Instance of SCP-XXXX found in the holding cell of D-121519
Special Containment Procedure: An SCP-XXXX instance discovered outside of Foundation custody is to be immediately recovered, then all individuals confirmed as effected by said instance of SCP-XXXX are to apprehended. Effected individuals are to be interrogated about their experience with SCP-XXXX. Once their full experience has been successfully recorded, they are to be administered class A amnestic and released. Recovered SCP-XXXX instances have been stored in a filing cabinet within the office of lead researcher Dr. Luis Arollo. Due to the inactive status of discovered SCP-XXXX instances, it has been determined that no additional security measures are required for containment.
No methods to predict or prevent SCP-XXXX-Y events have been developed.
Instances of SCP-XXXX-YL are to be held in storage hangar D of Site-91 or the onsite medical ward.
Description: SCP-XXXX instances consist of tan, letter sized envelopes. The envelopes are not sealed and are blank on the front and back. They also appear to be aged, however no aging process has given a consistent date of production of the envelopes. Within each instance is a bright green piece of folded paper. On this piece of paper in a cursive golden font is written an invitation. Language and wording of the text will vary based on the principle language of the intended recipient named in said text. Most instances reads as following:

And We'll Begin The Celebration
New instances of SCP-XXXX will spontaneously appear to a various people between the dates of December 5th and January 5th of each year. These instance will appear to their intended recipients, manifesting on their person. Common traits shared by chosen recipients of SCP-XXXX include the following:
- Regularly celebrating a holiday by way of party or festival during the winter season
- Displays symptoms of depression or stress in the days leading up to the manifestation
- Solitary at the moment of manifestation
- Unable at the time to properly celebrate their usual holiday in the winter season
It has been determined that this final trait is the most important for a SCP-XXXX manifestation, as it has been universally present in all subjects.
If after opening and reading an instance of SCP-XXXX the intended recipient says aloud "I accept" an SCP-XXXX-Y event will commence, and the SCP-XXXX instance will become mundane.
An SCP-XXXX-Y event consists of a spacial and temporal anomaly in which a series of about 100 entities invade the location of a recipient of SCP-XXXX. These entities will emerge from a large doorway or opening which did not previously exist in the space and initiate a celebration involving feasting, drinking, dancing, singing, and the ritualistic sacrifice of various animals. Any additional individuals present when the recipient initiates the SCP-XXXX-Y event will instantaneously disappear, leaving the recipient alone.
Entities summoned by an SCP-XXXX-Y event will manifest in predetermined waves. The entities have thus been sorted into tranches based on when they appear during the celebration.
- SCP-XXXX-1A: First entity to enter the recipient's space. Resembles a thin woman shrouded by a dark cloak. Carries with it a sack of unknown contents and a pair of large wooden shears. Will not interact with or acknowledge the presence of the recipient unless they refuses to partake throughout the SCP-XXXX-Y event. Entity will respond violently to this refusal. Human bodies sliced open at the abdominal region have been found alongside mundane instances of SCP-XXXX, leading researches to believe that SCP-XXXX-1A will terminate uncooperative recipients.
- SCP-XXXX-1B: Will arrive to the space approximately 1 minute after SCP-XXXX-1A. Consists of a group of about 20 figures described as being horned, fanged, tusked, shaggy haired, and anthropomorphic. Each instance carries large bells tied to the waist, and bundles of birch branches. Upon arrival, instances will actively dismantle and damage the space, creating an open area for the celebration. Are said to behave spirited but violent during this process. Will also periodically strike or grapple recipient, but said actions are not intended to inflict serious injury.
- SCP-XXXX-1C: Arrives simultaneously with SCP-XXXX-1B. Consists of approximately 20 humanoids described as blonde haired, fair skinned, attractive, ambiguously gendered and wearing cloaks of animal furs. Are also described as having a cheerful disposition, and assist in the clearing of space in an nonviolent manner. Carry with them wooden chairs, tables, and utensils, placing them in the space.
- SCP-XXXX-2A: Arrives on a wooden wagon driving a team of eight stags several minutes after the space has been prepared. Resembles a tall, pale man of stocky build, with white hair and a long beard. Holly is tangled within the hair and beard. Wears a read winter coat and wooden crown featuring a pair of short horns. Speaks an unidentified language. Wields a iron short sword in its left hand and a wooden goblet in its right hand. The sword is stained with a material of similar consistency to wood sap. If approached by the recipient, will offer a drink from its goblet. Liquid within the goblet has been unidentified and reports of the flavor is inconsistent, however, all interrogated recipients describe it as enjoyable.
- SCP-XXXX-2B: Ride into space on SCP-XXXX-4A's. Consist of about 10 small bearded figures no taller than 3 ft, wearing red conical caps, a woolen tunic belted at the waist and knee breeches with stockings. Despite small stature, instances appear to have immense strength, able to move and carry objects far larger than themselves. Instances carry with them an assortment of items including bowls of porridge, cooked hams, cooked turkeys, logs, candles, wreaths, and cut evergreen trees. Items are then placed in the space as decorations or on the prepared tables.
- SCP-XXXX-3A: Arrives Resembles a tall man with a well-muscled physique, curly white hair, beard, and adorned in loose fighting white robes. Wields a large sickle, and carries a wide bronze plate of bread, vegetables, and grapes. Speaks ancient Greek. If approached by the recipient, offers wax figurines or pottery. If recipient offers a gift in return, specifically food, an object, or assisting in a ritualistic sacrifice preformed by SCP-XXXX-1B, 1C, and 2B, entity will in turn give a solid gold watch.
- SCP-XXXX-4A: Arrives after the performance of a ritualistic sacrifice. Can be seen riding through the sky on a large, muscular horse leading a host of other riders moments prior to arrival if the SCP-XXXX-Y event occurs in an open or roofless space. If there is a chimney within the space, will emerge from said chimney. Resembles a thin elderly man with a graying beard and a missing eye. Wears a green cloak, wide-brimmed hat, and carries a walking stick. Speaks an unidentified dialect of Old Norse. If approached by recipient, will whisper a form of practical knowledge in the recipient's first language.

- SCP-XXXX-5A: Arrives several minutes after SCP-XXXX-4A, riding a large white goat. Resembles a young man of Eastern European descent, with fair curly hair. Additional physical features are difficult to discern, as the entity generates a bright yellow glow from its body. Speaks what is believed to be Proto-Balto-Slavic. Carries with it a wooden bowl filled with sweat bread buns and a sack of grain. Is described as jovial and singing or humming as it arrives. If approached by recipient, will not offer a gift unless the recipient joins the entity's singing. Will then offer a small straw figure of a goat.
- SCP-XXXX-6A: Will arrive once all meals and decorations have been prepared by prior entities. Resembles a elderly man of Greek descent, with white hair, long full beard, and clothed in 4th century clerical garb. Holds a book which is believed to be christian scripture, and a crosier. Speaks Latin. Upon arrival, will strike ground with crosier three times, generating a sound of larger magnitude than could be made by the impact. Other present entities will cease their current activities in response to this sound, then seat themselves. If approached by the recipient, will offer a bag of golden roman imperial coins.
The event will cease once the recipient becomes unconscious. Upon awaking, no time will have passed since the recipient spoke "I accept", and all other individuals will have returned. Additionally any alterations made to the space will become undone. The recipient, however, will maintain any items or alterations it received during the celebration, all of which are to be confiscated and designated as instances of SCP-XXXX-YL.
