Item #: SCP-5NNN
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5NNN is stored in a Class-3 humanoid containment chamber, furnished with a crib suitable for an infant. Nourishment in the form of human breast milk is to be provided, preferably from lactating D-class personnel, three times daily. If no suitable D-class personnel are available, medical staff shall induce lactation in D-class subjects. D-class maintenance personnel are to clean the containment chamber after each feeding session. All personnel who directly care for SCP-5NNN must not have children.
UPDATE ██/██/2017: All personnel who are to have direct contact with SCP-5NNN must undergo background checks. Personnel who have directly caused the death a child are not allowed access to SCP-5NNN. See incidents I5NNN-A and -B, below.
Description: SCP-5NNN is an infant male human, previously known as Alexander Brobsky. Due to its secondary anomalous effect, SCP-5NNN's actual age is impossible to determine, however its appearance is consistent with a healthy infant of normal physical development aged 5-6 months. SCP-5NNN's cognitive development is consistent with its apparent physical age.
SCP-5NNN was the only survivor of a chartered commercial flight from Grand Bahama island to Raleigh, North Carolina which crashed on 04/19/07 off Bald Head Shoals near Wilmington, NC. Having no surviving relatives, SCP-5NNN was given over to the Children's Services division of the North Carolina Department of Human and Health Services. It came to the Foundation's attention after agents embedded in the North Carolina state government noticed a pattern of unusual child abandonment cases in the Wilmington area. In each case, a foster family grossly neglected their other dependent children (natural and foster) after SCP-5NNN was placed in their care. Foundation agents investigated, and upon discovering SCP-5NNN's primary anomaly, arranged for the infant to be remanded to the custody of an Foundation agent posing as a foster parent.
SCP-5NNN's primary anomaly affects adults who directly care for it; they do so to the complete exclusion of any other children in their care. The resulting lack of care proceeds up to and including the death of other their other children, often from malnourishment. Affected adults remember their other children if prompted, but universally insist that the other children are 'fine' and SCP-5NNN needs their full attention. This effect begins upon an adult touching SPC-5NNN, and is reversible only upon the application of Class-A amnesiacs sufficient to erase memory to the point before the affected individual first encountered SCP-5NNN.
During the entire time in the Foundation's custody, SCP-5NNN has not grown, mentally or physically, in any way. This secondary anomaly has been verified via photographic and empiric measurement, and includes lack of change to all characteristics including nail and hair growth.
Addendum 5NNN-01: Researcher Note
Subsequent to Incident I5NNN-A, personnel D-3903243 claimed no memories of anything which transpired in SCP-5NNN's containment area. Upon being asked to return to the containment area, D-3903243 refused, becoming increasingly violent. D-3903243 was terminated by security personal after blinding Junior Researcher Williams.
Subsequent to Incident I5NNN-B, I examined both incident records and the affected D-class personnel's histories. Both incidents occurred upon the D-classes' first encounter with SCP-5NNN. One common factor stood out as unusual: both D-class personnel had previously killed a child. Prior to being remanded to the Foundation, D-3903243 was serving a life sentence for a DUI incident which resulted in the death of a family of five, including children ages 9, 5 and 1. D-64364 was remanded to the Foundation from death row, having been convicted of the murder of his wife and infant child. Interestingly, D-64364 had been previously administered multiple rounds of class-A amnesiacs after participating in tests of SCP-████, and no longer possessed memories of his criminal activity. No other commonality between the personnel was discovered. Containment procedures updated accordingly.
