Special Containment Procedures: The false walls covering SCP 1111 are to be checked on a monthly basis for cracks and wear via in-line ultrasonic sensors. AI drones are to be used in the case repairs are needed. Aside from the monthly checks the doors leading to the rooms SCP 1111 is in are to be locked. A four person staff is to be on site at all times. To ensure that there are no trespassers into the building. The team is to be rotated out after a 6 month period.
Description: SCP 1111 is a rough 3-4 cm hole in an interior wall of an abandoned factory outside of Albuquerque, New Mexico. SCP 1111's anomalous effect is that it leaves nearby sentient life with an interest in looking thought the westward facing side hole. Even if they may not know if its existence. It has been observed that the longer the proximity to the hole or the weaker the mental control such as for subjects that are inebriated, the stronger the interest. However long term testing has shown that subjects in close proximity of SCP 1111 upto 4 years have not developed any particularly strong compulsions to look through SCP 1111. The effective area of this anomaly has been found up to 166 kilometers away from SCP 1111 and at this time it is theorised that the effect tends extends to infinity.
SCP 1111 has also once emitted a rapid series of bright flashes. This event was observed once and since containment protocols have been put in place by site supervisor Dr. Lumin no light has been observed from the cavity.
This this has been only observed once for when a sentient subject looks through the westward facing side hole. It is belived that 4 out of 13 times the subject will not see a blank wall through the hole but black space for 2 to 3 seconds after which an eye will open and look back at the subject. This phenomenon has never been observed and no testing of this anomaly is allowed under any circumstances to confirm this. This is because it is belived that the hole in the wall is a multidimentional spacetime wormhole. While a majority of the connections on the other end of the worm hole are the eastward facing hole of SCP 1111 in alternate dimension
SCP 1111 initially came to Foundations attention when a video was posted online showing strange flashing lights in the abandoned factory SCP 1111 is located in. The video was recorded by local teenagers who had made their way into the building. From interviews it seems that SCP 1111's anomalous effect drew them to the room containing the hole however before they could look throught it a bright light shone from the hole and began flashing. Assuming that this was some kind of a joke one of the group walked into the other room where SCP 1111 terminates but obeserved no light source, instead when looking thorough the hole from the eastward side only saw the brightly lit room on the other end. They then proceeded to live stream this incident for a short stopping when they were discoveded by local sercurity guards causing them to flee. From interviews when the guards returned the phenomena had stopped.
Since initial interviews and the video seem to be factual a cordon was set up and a 2 person research team was tasked to study, verify and classify the anomaly.
