Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5XXX Is to be surrounded by an electrified fence and under constant monitoring by CCTV equipped with night vision and thermal imaging. The entire facility must be constantly illuminated by no less than 30 spotlights placed evenly around the perimeter of the main research facility. the lights must be focused directly on all windows and entrances to prevent containment breach by SCP-5XXX-2 the Main campus of SCP-5XXX is fitted with High yield explosive charges and modified remote detonated flashbang grenades, which are to be detonated in the case of a containment breach by SCP-5XXX-2 or if reactivation of SCP-5XXX-1 occurs. In order to prevent activation of any SCP-5XXX-1 related devices, no electrical power is to be provided to the SCP-5XXX Building with the exception of the CCTV system installed in the building. a Team consisting of no more than 1 researcher and three Security team members is to be posted to monitor the site. as a safety measure, the team must be rotated out once every two months.
Description: SCP-5XXX is a recently abandoned research and development building Previously owned by the Voidstar Industries' Research and development sector. The site Is a sleep research facility containing 5 labs, 12 Test subject bedrooms, 6 staff bedrooms, a barracks and armory, a cafeteria, Rec lounge, as well as 6 offices. SCP-5XXX spans an area of 2 acres of land. the central lab contains the device knows as SCP-5XXX-1, which was used in a project codenamed "Dreamwave" the device seems to be designed to emit a Deep-spectrum sinewave sound that resonates within most human minds. the sound effects subjects that are in REM sleep when the sound is Introduced.
SCP-5XXX also contains multiple instances of SCP-5XXX-2, extremely violent sentient shadow figures. these figures have been shown to communicate through subjects who have been affected by SCP-5XXX-1. the most used phrase by them is "We are the sleep." this seems to be a self-given Identity for All instances of SCP-5XXX-2.
SCP-5XXX-2 seem to be of a hive mind as well, functioning under a larger manafestation of the entities, SCP-5XXX-3. SCP-5XXX-3 is located in the chamber containing SCP-5XXX-1. all instances of SCP-5XXX-2 and SCP-5XXX-3 are violently protective of the SCP-5XXX facility. these instances are semicoporeal and seem to be mostly out of phaze with base reality. SCP-5XXX-3 and SCP-5XXX-3 show up to the naked eye as masses of shadow, however are not picked up on Basic camera systems. however, Thermal imaging shows the entities as masses of cold air in a humanoid shape.
Dispite the nature of the entities, they boast immense physical strength, able to seperate body parts and unhinge secured armored doors. Thier semicoporeal nature also grants them the ability to walk through walls. SCP-5XXX-2 entities have an adverse reaction to bright light, and are easily neutralized with fashbang grenades. SCP-5XXX-3, however, is unaffected by light. it is unknown weather the light used is strong enough or if the entity is immune. further testing is currently not possible however as SCP-5XXX-3 seems to be able to infect personale with an instance of SCP-5XXX-2.
