Serpent of the Ancient Sea

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX-1 is to be kept at site ███. It is to have mild slow acting sedatives on hand at all times. One agent must be assigned to watch SCP-XXXX-1 during it's waking hours with a strong yet slow acting sedative on hand. Agent must create a bond with SCP-XXXX-1 before being assigned, to avoid nervousness on the part of SCP-XXXX-1.

SCP-XXXX-1 is to be treated as a normal human child, and as such given living space, toys, food, and discipline as needed. On the first sign of extreme emotion of any kind outside of testing, SCP-XXXX-1 is to be encouraged to use their own sedatives. If a refusal to comply ever occurs, the agent assigned must use their stronger sedatives, and must alert any staff if signs of SCP-XXXX-2 appear.

Description: SCP-XXXX appears as a tattoo-like marking on the body of it's host SCP-XXXX-1. It is black in color, and appears as a four-eyed, open-mouthed serpentine form winding around the right leg of the current SCP-XXXX-1. It is approximately 50cm long and 3cm at it's widest point.

Biopsy of SCP-XXXX finds it penetrates all layers of SCP-XXXX-1's skin. SCP-XXXX is composed of a foreign chemical intermingled with the skin of SCP-XXXX-1. It has some chemical resemblance to early tattoo inks, but contains some foreign substances that sets it apart from any currently known ink.

Any biopsied skin from SCP-XXXX-1 heals almost instantly. Further research found that no other area of skin healed as quickly. Further research into SCP-XXXX-1's healing capabilities was terminated after the events of ██/██20██, see Experiment Log XXXX-A-2.

SCP-XXXX becomes active when SCP-XXXX-1 experiences any strong emotion. This includes but is not limited to happiness, anger, fear, and excitement.

When active, areas around SCP-XXXX-1 will dim in light and will appear to ripple as though underwater. The area under affect will begin as a cylinder with SCP-XXXX-1 at the bottom center of it. It begins immediately at approximately 2km in radius and 3km high, and it continues to expand, with the radius growing at 4km per hour, and the height growing at 1km per hour. It has reached a recorded 18km in radius and 7km in height with no sign of slowing.
