Item #: SCP-(TBD)
Object Class: Keter (?)
Special Containment Prodecures: Foundation Webcrawler "N0-MO" is to monitor all major social media and video sharing websites for any information referencing or purporting to explain SCP-(TBD), as well as any supposed video or photographic proof of contact with SCP-(TBD). Any such content discovered is to be flagged and discretely removed through the site's internal mechanisms, ideally by having the site's own moderation team determine the content to encourage dangerous activity, and thus be unacceptable for said website. In the event content pertaining to SCP-(TBD) is found to be hosted on a website with uncooperative, unresponsive, or excessively lax moderators, deletion of content by data corruption is an acceptable alternative to the preferred method.
Any conversations related to SCP-(TBD) on the encrypted messaging application (Redact this) are to be flagged for constant surveillance until it can be determined that neither party is an instance of SCP-(TBD). At such time as that determination can be made, the conversation is to be ended by having one or both accounts terminated.
In the event a flagged conversation is determined to contain an instance of SCP-(TBD) the conversation is to be ended by terminating the non-SCP-(TBD) account involved. The account containing an instance of SCP-(TBD) is then to be "quarantined" by permanently adding the account to the "Block list" of all other account as an invisible entry.
Any public awareness of SCP-(TBD) can easily be addressed by standard misinformation efforts, dismissing it as a hoax for attention, as any proof will be dealt with by the webcrawler.
In the event of accidental contact with and activation of SCP-(TBD), immediate termination of the conversation and treatment with class-B amnesics is required to prevent further effects.
Profile Picture of SCP-(TBD), "Momo"
Description: SCP-(TBD) is a memetic cognitohazard hosted in a currently unknown number of accounts on the encrypted messaging application (redact this). Commonly known as "Momo", of the "Momo Challenge", SCP-(TBD) is contacted by messaging an account under the effects of SCP-(TBD). It is currently unknown how SCP-(TBD) acquires new accounts, though it appears to simply create new accounts as needed. Currently, only a small percentage of attempts to contact SCP-(TBD) are successful. Based on data gathered during Incident-TBD-A and Incident-(TBD)-B it appears that the percentage of contact attempts SCP-(TBD) responds to is directly related to the number of people attempting to contact SCP-TBD, with the percentage of successful attempts increasing exponentially as exposure of SCP-(TBD) increases.
In the event that contact is established with SCP-(TBD), it will initially seem friendly and interested in learning about the contacting subject, often conversing with poor spelling and grammar. If the subject divulges any information whatsoever about itself to SCP-(TBD) that is not readily available from the subject's account SCP-(TBD) will respond with some variation of "I know". At this point, the instance of SCP-(TBD) in the conversation is considered "active". SCP-(TBD) will ask a follow up question that implies intimate knowledge of the Subject. It is believed that at this point in the conversation SCP-(TBD) has full access to the Subject's memories.
Unless treated with Class-B amnestics, subjects who have activated SCP-(TBD) report being unable to permanently terminate a conversation with SCP-(TBD). Subjects invariably resume contact with SCP-(TBD) if able, claiming unbearable curiosity about SCP-(TBD)'s knowledge of them. Contacts unable to resume contact will become anxious, paranoid, and in some cases agitated or even violent.
If contact is allowed to resume, or is not interrupted, SCP-(TBD) will ask more questions, often about a topic that inspires feelings of guilt, regret, or shame in the Subject. Subjects report feeling compelled to defend themselves in the conversation, often to the point of obsession. SCP-(TBD) will then, in the course of arguing the merits of the Subject's defense of their actions, suggest a display of remorse as proof of their sincerity, often in the form of activities, ranging from highly dangerous to outright self-mutilation. The suggested display seems to have no correlation to the event being discussed, or to the apparent emotional state of the subject. Subjects report being aware of the irrationality of complying with such a request, but often comply with it anyway, claiming severe feelings of guilt and depression, even over objectively minor events, and an overwhelming desire to be absolved. Upon completion and documentation of the specified action, the Subject will then send said documentation to SCP-(TBD). In response, SCP-(TBD) will claim the documentation appears to be falsified, and demand another action be taken as proof, invariably more severe than the last. SCP-(TBD) will have the same reaction to all documentation submitted, though it seems to acknowledge when its demands have been fulfilled, as it only makes a new demand once the previous one has been completed. If a falsified or unrelated image or video is sent, SCP-(TBD) will demand the same action be taken again. Invariably, the escalation of SCP-(TBD)'s demands will result in death of the subject, usually by an elaborate and gruesome form of suicide.
