SCP-4982

Object Class: Euclid

Description: A large wooden seat in the woods of a zoo located in Landskrona, Sweden. The seat attracts people over the age of 23 to sit on it, asking relatives in a 20m area to sit on it with them. People who sit on the seat are to be dubbed SCP-4982-1. SCP-4982-1 will only be able to get off the seat once the phrase “Alright, let’s go” is said in any language within 34m of the seat. SCP-4982 was discovered after a 911 call, see Addendum 4982-A-1. It is unclear how or when SCP-4982 arrived at the zoo, as according to Zoo Personnel it was not there before the 4982-A-1 incident.

Special containment procedures: Due to the immovable nature of SCP-4982, a 21x21x10 metre concrete structure has been built around it. A door has been inserted that is to remain locked at all times. An “Authorised Personnel Only” sign has been put on the door in both English and Swedish. A Foundation Agent is to remain close to the Holding Cell of SCP-4982, disguised as Zoo Personnel. Any testing is to be approved by Level 3 personnel. During testing, the Zoo is to be closed, any plausible reason is to be given.

Addendum 4982-A-1:

A distressed 29-year-old white male named Chris ███████████ calls 911 after he is unable to get of a seat he sat on. He claims he has been trying to get off for 10 minutes but is unable too. The dispatcher sends EMS, thinking his legs have been paralysed. The EMS arrives on scene and sit down on the seat, being attracted to sit on it. They check his legs, but he is not paralyzed. They attempt to stand up but are unable to. The Foundation is alerted and an Agent is sent out to investigate. Mobile Task Force Epsilon 6 “The Village Idiots” assisted in Containment of SCP-4982. All Non-Foundation Personnel were given Class-C Amnestics.

  • Note from Dr. Bright: Oh, why don’t we let a humanoid SCP sit on this? Force may also be able to get SCP-4982-1 off of SCP-4982.

  • Note from Site-██ SD: That’s actually a good idea… It might have to stay there. The humanoid SCP part, I mean.

Addendum 4982-A-2:

Cross testing with SCP-096 is requested by Dr. Bright, he approves himself. The Zoo is closed down, the cover-up reason is “An Escaped Bear”. A bag is put over SCP-096’s head, he is then guided towards SCP-4982. SCP-096 sits down on SCP-4982, however when the bag is removed, he is looked at and attacks. SCP-096 is able to get off the seat without difficulty. There is only 1 casualty. SCP-096 is escorted back to containment and the Zoo is reopened.
