Special Containment Procedures: SCP-#### is to be contained in Site [redacted]-alpha, and is not to be removed under any circumstances. No unauthorised electronic devices are permitted within three kilometers of SCP-####, and no electronic devices are permitted within 100 meters of the object. A perimeter of security cameras must be maintained, with each camera at minimum 2.5 kilometers away from SCP-####. At least one guard, with special security clearance, must be stationed at Site [redacted]-alpha 2, and must monitor the security camera perimeter for signs of intruders. Any unauthorised personnel approaching site [redacted]-alpha are to be intercepted and turned away, or, if necessary, terminated. No personnel are to come into contact with SCP-####, unless for emergency retrieval of the object. After exposure to SCP-####, personnel are advised to take NaCl supplements for 2-3 weeks.
Description: SCP-#### is a lightning rod of unknown manufacture. It consists of a central copper rod measuring 1.5 meters in height and 2 centimeters in diameter, and three supporting rods made from iron that each measure 0.5 meters in length and 0.5 centimeters in diameter. All components of SCP-#### are heavily weathered, and from the craftsmanship of the anomaly, it is estimated it was created in the late 1700s. When it was created, SCP-#### had a weather vane attached to the top of the structure, classified SCP-####-1, but it has not yet been acquired by the foundation.
SCP-#### has the ability to absorb electromagnetic energy in a 100 meter radius around it. This charge is transported directly into the object, regardless of any physical barriers. What happens to the electric energy after that point is unknown, as all sensing devices used on the object failed as soon as they were within 100 meters of the anomaly. It is speculated that the energy is stored within the anomaly, although the method for this is not known. SCP-#### has the ability to absorb some other types of electromagnetic energy as well [see testing log], but is selective apparently without reason. For example, SCP-#### can absorb the electromagnetic charge differences between sodium and chloride ions in NaCl, unbonding the atoms and creating a dangerous compound, but it cannot do the same to any other ionic compounds that have been tested on it. SCP-#### also cannot absorb electromagnetic energy from inside the human body unless it is in direct physical contact with a human.
Addendum 1:
Notice to all site 17 personnel:
As you all are aware, site 17 recently experienced a small containment breach of one entity. SCP-#### was found outside of it’s containment chamber within close proximity to the chamber of the escaped entity. I would like to remind you all that this object has extremely high sabotage potential, due to our multitude of electronic safety measures. Security around SCP-#### is to be dramatically increased, and nobody is to approach it’s room unauthorised. Remember, even though this is a safe class object, it can still cause a lot of problems. I want everyone to be on their guard for any attempts to acquire SCP-####.

Addendum 2:
Following incident 17-####-2, SCP-#### is to be moved to a specially constructed facility, Site [redacted]-alpha. Object reclassified as Keter, due to unpredictability and it’s potential to cause a site-wide containment breach.
SCP-#### has demonstrated the ability to release a power surge, flooding any electronic device within 2.4 kilometers with millions of watts of electricity. The trigger for this occurrence is unknown. [see incident report 17-####-2]

Due to concerns over the security of SCP-####, specific details as to its location have been redacted from all foundation records. All personnel assigned to SCP-#### must meet with Dr. Yueh for details as to the object’s location.
