Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-XXXX is to be kept inside two standard fireproof lock boxes 20cm X 10cm X 10cm within a thick room coated in a mild flame retardant. This room is to be kept under 10 degrees Celsius at all times.
Thermal alarms, infrared cameras, and vents connected to a pump designed to withstand temperatures above 120 and below -150 degrees Celsius are to be present in the containment room and batteries are to be changed monthly.
Under the circumstance that SCP-XXXX is activated the room containing SCP-XXXX is to be flooded with nuclear coolant until a subject possessing extreme hypotrichosis is located in order to neutralize SCP-XXXX. Two guard are to be positioned in front of the containment room. All Guards are to be equipped with fire proximity suits and fire extinguishers and are to be fully shaven at all times.
Any request for testing must go through site coordinator and the Doctor and Researcher assigned to SCP-XXXX.
Object Description:
SCP-XXXX is a standard set of military brand safety razor and 3 accompanying steel blades in a cartridge designated SCP-XXXX-1 and
SCP-XXXX-2.Exclusively these items pertain no anomalous properties; however when combined SCP-XXXX becomes lethal to all human life that come into contact with it.
Furthermore, once every two months SCP-XXXX-2 will breach the lock box in which it is contained and insert itself into SCP-XXXX-1 SCP-XXXX-1 will then begin to heat up to temperatures up to 83 degrees Celsius.
When in contact with a living organism SCP-XXXX will produce a mind altering effect where SCP-XXXX will force the subject to shave any and all hair from their body. Additionally SCP-XXXX will shut down the central nervous systems from detecting any and all heat related stimuli. SCP-XXXX when in contact with a living subject will begin heating once again reaching temperatures of 1100 degrees Celsius and beyond. This only ceases when the subject is considered deceased.
There seems to be no limit of the temperature SCP-XXXX can reach, and rather SCP-XXXX will continue to heat until complete combustion of the subject. After termination, SCP will go into a dormant stage where SCP-XXXX-1 ejects SCP-XXXX-2 and remains standard room temperature for 3 hours and 32 seconds without any change. After the three hours have passed SCP-XXXX-1 and SCP-XXXX will begin the process again.
The only exception to this process is If the subject has extreme hypotrichosis SCP XXXX will go dormant immediately after contact and have no mind altering effects on the subject. Additionally If a subject is prevented from shaving or is otherwise unable to continue shaving before their expiration SCP-XXXX will subsequently deactivate.
Discovery:
SCP-XXXX was discovered in Angier North Carolina, in a apartment in the downstairs bathroom on 08/17/01, after extensive observation and a activation sequence which lead to a call to the local fire department when the smoke alarms had been set off by the burning of the downstairs bathroom. When police arrived the owner of the apartment was unable to be recovered.
The foundation was originally alerted after a number of fires local to Angier where no source could be detected. However, links to lists of fires can be traced back to the 1930’s where a entire Hooverville was burned down by an unknown source.
When recovered by foundation staff SCP-XXXX was in a dormant state and luckily was not activated before it was safely contained.
Testing Logs under the supervision of Dr. Drives and Researcher Wicket.
Testing Log 1:
[3 hours after containment SCP-XXXX is placed into a metal room with one armed guard. As researcher Wicket and Dr Drives observe SCP-XXXX-1 and SCP-XXXX-2]
Dr Drives: three hours have passed with no change I’m calling it quits for the night [end log]
Testing log 2:
[48 hours have passed since had been contained. SCP-XXXX had its discovery log created by Agent Fritz 15 hours after containment and under digression of Dr. Drives SCP-XXXX is placed into a fire box and it’s containment room is coated in a mild flame retardant. Additionally two infrared cameras were installed for observation] Dr. Drives: Good morning wicket Wicket: morning Dr Drives SCP-XXXX has undergone no changes in the past 4 hours. Dr. Drives: Enthralling Wicket. [2 hours of silence proceed] Dr. Drives: there are better uses of my time than to sit here and stare at a razor for hours. Wicket finish the log.

Testing Log 5:
[Observation of SCP 3 weeks after containment. SCP-XXXX is in its containment cell on a table under surveillance of two thermal cameras and two guards dressed in fire proximity suits and armed with fire extinguishers] [3 hours pass without any change] Dr. Drives bring in the D-Class. [D-574 enters into the containment room] Dr. Drives: D-574 open the firebox and describe what you see. [D-574 opens the lock box with the key provided on the table which SCP-XXXX is contained in] D-574: I see a razor and some blades, what about it. Dr. Drives: please pick up the razor [D-574 picks up the razor containing no blades] D-547: it’s just a stupid razor what about it is so special? Dr Drives: please open the cartridge of blades and insert them into the razor. [D-574 opens the cartridge of blades and places one into the razor from here the subject goes silent and begins to shave starting with the exposed hair above his jumpsuit] Dr. Drives: D-574 are you alright? [D-574 exhibits no response and continues to shave. Thermal cameras read tempature of SCP-XXXX reaching an excess of 200 degrees Celsius] Dr. Drives: D-547’s skin is burning off, This test is concluded.
[The guards come in and douse D-574 in flame retardant but until he was tackled by the guard he continued to shave. After releasing SCP-XXXX D-574 began to scream in agony because of the burns. He was then sent to the infirmary to treat his wounds]
Testing Log 6:
[15 minutes after last log after researcher Wicket alerted Dr. Drives that the temperature of SCP-XXXX had settled at 82 degrees Celsius]
Dr: Drives SCP-XXXX is no longer cooling and has settled at 82 degrees Celsius. Please bring in the guards [the guards pour liquid nitrogen onto the SCP where temperatures are seen to decrease down to 75 degrees Celsius but quickly ride back to 82.] Dr. Drives: SCP-XXXX can be effected by outside forces; arrange for containment cell to flood in a coolant under the circumstance of a activation and please separate these two items from each other before someone accidentally places them together. [SCP-XXXX-1 and SCP-XXXX-2 were designated two separate lock boxes henceforth] Dr: Drives: this test is concluded until we find a way to safely disassemble the razor.
Testing Log 7:
[3 days have passed, SCP-XXXX is still placed on the floor at 82 degrees Celsius and has burned through the flame retardant and is beginning to oxidize the metal floor of its containment cell.] Dr. Drives: bring in D-575 [D-575 enters the containment room] Dr Drives: D-575 please approach the SCP and take it apart. [without speaking D-585 pick up the razor pauses and begins to shave their arms] Dr. Drives: I don’t know what I expected to happen. Researcher Wicket: Dr Drives the temperature is climbing much higher this time. [D-575 begins to immolate skin and flesh peeing off her bone] Dr. Drives: Get the damn guards in here she is burning alive! [Guards rush into the room and attempt to extinguish D-575 but the temperature has exceeded 1000 degrees and burns to bright to be stopped by their fire extinguishers] Dr. Drives: Dammit! This experiment is over, I will not lose any more sleep over the ever increasing number of lives lost to the ever growing containment of dangerous items such as this. [Dr Drives exits the observation deck. Researcher Wicket remarks the temperature to the guards of 1100. Everyone evacuated the containment room of SCP-XXXX where it is locked for two days undisturbed]
(Addendum: looking back at the tapes after total immolation of D-575 SCP-XXXX goes dormant and cools down to room temperature)
Testing Log 8:
[SCP-XXXX-1 and SCP-XXXX-2 are seen separated on the floor in a large burned circle. Placed now on the table are two lock boxes] Dr Drives: Bring in D-574 [D-574 is thrown into the room with the door closed behind him cussing and punching] Dr Drives: Please sir calm down . All we want is for you to place The razor in the box and take the blade and return it to the cartridge and place that into the other box. D-574: hell no you see what that razor did to me [D-574 raises his now partially amputated arm] Dr. Drives: I realize but as long as you do not touch the two items together you will be fine. Do you realize the consequences if you do not comply? [D-574 eventually complied with more encouragement and the promise of an extended stay in the infirmary for his pain. This was granted by the digression of Dr. Drives] Dr Drives: send D-574 back to the infirmary [two guard remove D-574 from the containment room] Dr. Drives please now I’ll someone clean this containment rooms and restore the flame retardant before we burn a home into the break room. This concludes the log.
Testing Log 9
[4 weeks have passed and SCP-XXXX-2 has broken through both lock boxes and combined with SCP-XXXX-1. Dr. Drives now under investigation for unprofessional behavior SCP-XXXX is now under the observation of researcher Wicket] Wicket: bring in the subject [Two guards being in a elderly gentleman age 62 with extreme hypotrichosis. Wicket: D-576 remove the Razor from the box
[the elderly man picks up the key and opens the box and removes the razor and promptly SCP-XXXX-2 ejects itself from SCP-XXXX-1 and cools down immediately. The elderly man: Careful with these old things the springs can go crazy sometimes. Wicket: thank you your help in our research has been extremely enlightening, now place the razor and the blades into the boxes. Testing concluded SCP-XXXX will enter into its dormant state when it is unable to convince the subject shave. Very interesting indeed.
(Addendum SCP-XXXX continuously breaches containment from their boxes on a monthly basis and must be changed out continuously. Furthermore as D-576 ages we must look for a replacement as he is currently hospitalized after suffering a stroke and will not be able to continue our containment efforts Dr. Wicket signing off)
