Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4056 is to be kept in a small storage container located at Site-17 and locked with a standard keypad lock. Due to SCP-4056 anomalous effects, only site members with level 3 access and above, may use SCP-4056 for limited time. If the user of SCP-4056 goes over this time limit they will be terminated by site security.
Description: SCP-4056 is a standard issue Lenovo laptop with a small paper taped to it that has the password written on it, the laptop has no charger and appears to charge itself through unknown means. Once powered on the laptop will make a small beep and the password login screen will appear, the login screen is a black background with text saying “enter password” and a text box for inputting the password.
Once logged in a desktop with a black background will appear with only two shortcuts on the screen. The “Library” and “games/media” once one of these icons are clicked SCP-4056 anomalous effects will start to take hold of the user of SCP-4056.
The “Library” shortcut once clicked, brings the user to a search bar and will pull up results for whatever has been typed. SCP-4056 collection of text ranges from simple stories and letters to historical documents, the oldest document currently known to exist on SCP-4056 dates back to 1600’s. It is unknown how SCP-4056 gains access to such documents and how it is able to support such a large library of text without running out of space.
The second program on SCP-4056 desktop is called “games/media” and once clicked it will bring up a search bar similar to the Library program. The difference in this program is that it will pull up only games and movies, some of the items SCP-4056 brings up have not been released yet or exist. The scp can also run games that the laptop model the SCP resembles can not. Some of the games that have been tested include, a very realistic looking racing game, a shooting game with pixel graphics that appears to be based in Vietnam and a simulation of the universe that would require extensive processing power to run.
SCP-4056 was planned to be used for entertainment purposes but after two reports of D-Class who used the SCP for extended time went into a enraged state and attacked Security attempting to remove them. It was discovered through extra testing with D-Class that anyone who uses SCP-4056 for more then 30 minutes will go into a state of rage whenever they are unable to use SCP-4056. After 10 minutes of not using SCP-4056 the user will start trying to harm themselves with whatever is around. The degree of this self harm will increase every 10 minutes away from SCP-4056.
Recovery: SCP-4056 was brought to foundation attention when police reports came in that a young boy recently attacked his mom who tried to take away the device the boy was on. After her attempt of taking away the device the boy went into a enraged state and assaulted the mother. When police arrived due to a noise complaint they found the boy locked in his room with the mother who was in serious condition. Police was forced to fire upon the child after he went into the same enraged state like before. The laptop was taken by police and then retrieved by foundation personnel.
