Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a reinforced steel locker on site-██ SCP-XXXX is to be kept locked in the office of Dr. Casval Rosas [REDACTED] on site-██, and all requests for testing are to be directed through Dr. Rosas. SCP-XXXX must be returned to the office of Dr. Rosas immediately after testing, and must not be taken for more than 5 hours, some exceptions apply. All requests must be filed with a researcher of at least clearance level 2 present, if not the request will be automatically denied.
Description: The SCP consists of a set of 9 unlabeled tubes of paint, contained within a 6" wide x 8" long by 1 1/2" birch wood box. There are no anomalous traits of note regarding the box the paints are held in itself. The only indication of a difference between the paints is a number hastily drawn on the cap, labeled 1-9, and referred to accordingly.
SCP-XXXX was originally brought in by Dr. Rosas once shortly after he found and bought SCP-XXXX from a locally owned art store in his home town of [REDACTED]. Due to his technical ownership of the object, as well as its low-risk nature, Dr. Rosas is allowed special permission to house SCP-XXXX in his personal office, as long as its kept locked up when not being tested and stays on Foundation premises at site-██.
SCP-XXXX-1 consists of water
SCP-XXXX-2 consists of pen ink
SCP-XXXX-3 consists of standard acrylic paint
SCP-XXXX-4 consists of standard oil paint
SCP-XXXX-5 consists of standard pencil graphite
SCP-XXXX-6 consists of a paper-like medium
SCP-XXXX-7 consists of a wood-like medium
SCP-XXXX-8 consists of a cotton-canvas
SCP-XXXX-9 consists of non-specified flesh
Each tube of paint has seemingly infinite contents, with the medium in question being the only difference. The color-altering ability is only present in objects that come in contact with a tube of the corresponding medium. The color change is effective immediately once contact is made, and alters the object in its entirety regardless if the entire object came in contact, as long as it is comprised of the same medium. Mixing two different tubes negates this as long as the mix comprises of the mediums in question. The change is consistent throughout the object as if it were always that color. The change is permanent but can be reversed by reimagining the original pigment of the object. there is no limit to how many times an object's color can be altered, and the change has no bearing on the object's traits outside of its color.
The color the pigment takes is determined by whatever the user wills it to be, as long as physical contact is made. If multiple individuals come in contact and picture different colors, the resulting pigment is an equal mix of the colors in question. The paint keeps its pigment until all physical content is severed from the original user.
When asked if the subject was willing to or had interest in testing SCP-XXXX to any capacity, the subject nearly always agrees with artistic and anomalous individuals having the highest chance of agreeing and those with either no interest or confidence in producing art in any means having less of a chance of agreeing, though those who did agree to testing, are documented feeling like their art ability did/could improve after ceasing contact with SCP-XXXX.
