Special Containment Procedures: Any SCP-XXXX-2 instances must be sealed in completely opaque envelopes and kept within locked containers in storage facility A. All recorded instances of SCP-XXXX-1 are to be placed into separate humanoid containment cells that have been adequately sound-proofed and equipped with basic entertainment. Food is to be delivered through a slot in the containment cell door by D-class personnel equipped with noise cancelling earphones. All SCP-XXXX-2 instances should be under constant surveillance via remote video feed with no audio. Should any SCP-XXXX-2 instance under go a Thuul event, the personnel monitoring them are to immediately cut off video surveillance and report it before being treated with class-a amnestics and given a minimum 3 weeks of therapy before returning to active duty.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a memetic agent that can be transferred through spoken language, though the medium usually cannot be understood as such through XXXX’s effects. Over the course of a month any individual who comes in contact with XXXX will gradually lose the ability to speak cohesively, though they will be unable to discern such. By the end of the month afflicted individuals will be able to further spread XXXX, and are unable to be understood by non-affected individuals, usually sounding as if they were babbling madly or stringing together words in a meaningless manner. In an attempt to communicate, many affected individuals, hereafter referred to as SCP-XXXX-1, will write in an attempt to communicate with those around them. Any writing produced by said individuals, referred to as SCP-XXXX-2, is not garbled but has severe detrimental effects on anyone who views them. Whenever any SCP-XXXX-1 instances attempt to write, any symbols they produce will cause anyone who directly observes them to temporarily enter a catonic state while viewing them, before collapsing. When subjects awaken, they will have been seemingly driven mad, usually screaming or sobbing while lashing out violently at nearby persons. This maddening effect can also be seen in the spoken form of XXXX from both continuous exposure, or multiple SCP-XXXX-1 instances speaking together. Interestingly, this also affects SCP-XXXX-1 instances, causing many to become violent and hostile. Under certain circumstance, which are currency undergoing study, SCP-XXXX-1 instances are known to be produce [Data Expunged], which warps local reality for brief instances. Theses scenarios, referred to as Thuul events, cause the immediate area to [Redacted], causing major psychological damage to anyone who witnesses it.
