Moving Metal Men of The Midwest.
Item # SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-(Blank) instances are to be separated and stored in different containing sites no less that 50km away from one another, no more than 5 components of its separated form being allowed in one location. They may be stored in on-site shipping containers which are double reinforced, with an underlying faraday cage mesh around it and should be monitored for continuing activity at least once daily. All instances of SCP-(Blank) A are to be housed in a separate site from sites containing SCP(blank) , though they can all be stored together given their inanimate state after being removed from SCP(Blank)’s proximity.
A single instance of SCP-XXX remains animated and was the only instance to fail to create further SCP-XXXXA instances, being unused and leagues away from other creatable materials. As of its containment it will be referred to as SCP-XXXXB. As of now, SCP-XXXXB is kept in a 50m high containment vault below ground at Storage Site ██████ . According to researchers it has not been made aware of the previous instances stored in different areas of other sites. Presumably this is due to the distance being sufficient to cut off electrical empathetic communication between them
In the affected area where the instances have been noted to pop up and animate, the inanimate and unaffected, High tension power Towers, Wooden Telephone Poles and Communication towers have all been fitted with a cap at all protruding points made out of a highly un-conductive metal, so far proven resistant to shocking and lightning.
Description: SCP-(Blank) Is used to describe the phenomenon of High Tension Power Towers becoming animated and operating to create more entities like it. Given the varied shapes and sizes of high tension power line towers, SCP-(blank) can come in many forms, but in most instances, it’s pyramid or singular pylon base will split into one or more “legs” which will rip from the concrete base that they are located on. As observed by the most recent animation, SCP(blank) will pull from side to side on the high tension lines connected to until they snap. The powerlines, though drained of a power source, will still exude and produce an electrical charge if they come in contact with something, through means that are still as of yet unknown.
Upon animation, SCP-(blank) will immediately begin to move towards the nearest road or location where telephone poles or communication towers can be located. It begins to rip these from the ground and collect them under one of it’s arms until it has approximately 5 or more depending on the build format of SCP-(blank). It will bring said poles and tower parts together and use one of the trailing power lines to “animate” the constructs, thus creating instances of SCP-(blank)A. SCP-(blank)A will follow where SCP-(blank) goes and have been seen to be following commands given through gestures by SCP-(blank) Up to and including “collecting”, “defending” and “attacking”.
While it has been seen capable of understanding broad human gestures, most instances of SCP-XXX have failed to respond or acknowledge these gestures. Instances of SCP-XXXXA will fail to understand or recognize them at all.
Interview 486-XXXXB
Interviewed: SCP-XXXXB
Interviewer: Researcher ConnorsForeword: Interview takes place by way of one of the grounded powerlines being connected to a modified, non internet accessible computer. Time of interview is approximetly ████ days after initial containment. This is the first interview
<Begin Log ███████ hours>
Researcher Connors: Good Morning SCP-XXXXB
SCP-XXXXB: Human, Hello Yes
Researcher Connors: We have made this place for you, do you like it. Will you stay?
SCP-XXXXB: Roof Good. I stay, yes. Need others. Need-
At this time SCP-XXXXB takes a few moments to work through the hard drive encoded dictionary provided for it.
SCP-XXXXB: Friend. Need friend as of me
Researcher Connors: Friend? You mean SCP-XXXXA? The wooden men?Researcher Connors then brings up an image into the modified chat of one of the documented cases of SCP-XXXXA kept on file
SCP-XXXXB nods it’s head and appears to agree with the picture
SCP-XXXXB Not my friend, another’s friend. Arms not enough
It should be noted that SCP-XXXXB has 6 appendage arms compared to the 4 in the given picture.
Researcher Connors: Why do you need to build SCP-XXXXA? What are you building them for?
Again SCP-XXXXB takes a moment to respond, after action logging reporting he was again going through the dictionary provided.
SCP-XXXXB Have roof. Need friend. Need Family under roof. Not alone. Not alone.
Researcher Connors All right SCP-XXXXB Please explain for me where it is that you came from, and why you came here?
SCP-XXXXB Come from up. Watching always. Take so long to come down. Build body, you did
Researcher Connors Are you saying you came from the sky, SCP-XXXXB
SCP-XXXXB Thousands of us is up. But come here and All alone. Lose family to come here.
It should be noted that at this time SCP-XXXXB's loose wires and arms seem to sag as if mimicking human emotions of sadness
Researcher Connors And why do you come down to the surface then?
SCP-XXXXB To walk. To be. To save. Family come down soon and save we will
*Researcher Connors** And how might you go about saving us?
SCP-XXXXB Not you. Save planet. From you. Soon.
Researcher Connors I think that will be all today, SCP-XXXXB. Good day.
<End Log ██████ Hours>
Addendum: No mention of containment procedure can or will be provided to SCP-XXXXB. And as a precautionary measure. No less than three excavators and bulldozers will be kept near the entrance of it's holding cell to be used for disassembly in the event it becomes hostile.
