Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained within a white, sound proof room at all times, with four observation cameras to monitor the containment chamber. All personnel with a documented history of psychosis of any degree are to be thoroughly evaluated to determine their fitness for interacting with SCP-XXXX. Personnel changes are to be conducted every hour. In addition to this, a 15 meter “red zone” around SCP-XXXX's containment chamber is to be enforced at all times, designating the known limit of SCP-XXXX’s hallucinatory properties.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a metallic door, similar in design to that of a safe door, that is 2 meters tall and 0.5 meters wide. SCP-XXXX is virtually immune to any form of physical alteration, such as being shot or coated in industrial grade chemicals. However, it is possible for SCP-XXXX to be either removed or installed within a door frame that fits its dimensions. When not installed within a door frame SCP-XXXX will “create” its own and resume functioning. Real time observations of subjects entering SCP-XXXX are not permitted, due to the risk of observers possibly being affected by SCP-XXXX. As such, only recordings of tests performed on SCP-XXXX are deemed safe to view and must be viewed outside SCP-XXXX’s “red zone”.

Opening and entering through SCP-XXXX causes the subject to immediately experience powerful and vivid visions, however it should be noted that these visions do not demonstrate any fantastical elements that are often associated with dreams, rather they are described as being realistic and grounded in logic. These visions often (but not always) have some form of personal relevance to the viewer such as seeing deceased family members or witnessing the death of a close friend. These visions tend to be described as terrifying (documented cases include a Class-D witnessing his sister's murder), but pleasant visions are documented as well (such as a Class-D seeing his recently deceased wife). If more than one subject enter SCP-XXXX they will still experience visions, but they are described as being hazy and unclear. Should the number of subjects that attempt enter SCP-XXXX exceed five, SCP-XXXX will function as if it was a normal door.

Individuals with a history of psychosis are found to be much more susceptible to these visions and typically demonstrate much more erratic behavior when exposed to SCP-XXXX. Regardless of whether or not the visions experienced within SCP-XXXX were terrifying, subjects express a desire to re-enter SCP-XXXX. Subjects that enter SCP-XXXX and do not leave within a period of 12 hours will exit SCP-XXXX displaying signs of extreme malnutrition and will remain unresponsive. In some cases, subjects never return entirely, though such incidents are rare. Individuals who exit SCP-XXXX before the 12 hour mark will exhibit varying degrees of malnutrition as well as psychological instability proportional to the time they spent inside SCP-XXXX. Even when not entering SCP-XXXX, personnel who have spent an extended period of time within SCP-XXXX’s “red zone” have been found to experience subtle, yet persistent auditory and visual hallucinations that become progressively stronger as time goes on and eventually manifest into a desire to enter SCP-XXXX.
