Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4043 is to be kept in a 5m by 5m by 5m room in site-23's biological wing. SCP-4043 is to be given one class-D subject every month under addendum 4043-01. SCP-4043's cell is to be monitored by no less than two security cameras both inside and outside SCP-4043's cell, as well as two guards be stationed outside the cell at all times, with the exception of supplying SCP-4043 with a new class-D subject. If any psychological changes are noticed in SCP-4043's behavior, one or more member with level-4 clearance or higher as well as an on site psychologist are to be reported immediately.

Description: SCP-4043 is appears to be a member of //Pandinus Imperator // (king scorpion). While SCP-4043 displays a normal black exoskeleton, SCP-4043 has been displayed to change the color of it's exoskeleton to match any human flesh it comes into contact with. The SCP is also abnormally resistant to many harsh conditions, i.e. being crushed, being exposed to below freezing temperatures, and exposure to many poisons and insect killing liquids. SCP-4043 has shown an extreme fear response when exposed to extreme heats , such as fire and explosives.

When SCP-4043 comes into contact with a human being, it will climb up the subject until it reaches the back of the neck. It will then stick its stinger into the subject's neck until it reaches cervical nerve C5, but instead of injecting poison into the subject, an unidentified liquid is injected into the subjects nervous system. (Samples of this liquid have been extracted, but do not seem to have any effect unless SCP-4043 is injecting it into a host). Once the unknown liquid has been injected into the subject, SCP-4043 will then have full control of all aspects of the subject, now referred to as SCP-4043-2. Scans have shown that when SCP-4043 has created an instance of SCP-4043-2, all signs of brain activity within SCP-4043-2 have ceased, although all other organs still seem to function.

When SCP-4043 has created an instance of SCP-4043-2, SCP-4043 seems to display signs of human like intelligence. When SCP-4043 uses SCP-4043-2 to speak, all instances will display the same vocal pattern, that being of an older teenage male, regardless of the age or gender of the host. SCP-4043 is quite communicative, and often enjoys talking to researchers about how it functions and what it is capable of. SCP-4043 refers to itself as Lyken Astrada, though records indicate no such person to exist. SCP-4043 has asked researchers to refer to it as Lyken. When asked about it's past, SCP-4043 states that it cannot remember its life before being found by foundation personnel.

SCP-4043 was discovered at [EXPUNGED] laboratories in [REDACTED], Tennessee. SCP-4043 was the only living creature found on site, and it's anomalous properties were discovered when a squad member of a retrieval team noticed SCP-4043 climbing up his arm, having taken the color of the mans skin. When he attempted to squash SCP-4043, he realized that SCP-4043 was extremely durable. SCP-4043 was reportedly stomped on about 41 times without taking any structural damage. SCP-4043 was collected and brought to site-23.

Addendum 4043-01: 9/22/20[][] When running tests on SCP-4043, D-class personnel were used to see what the color changing abilities of SCP-4043 could handle. Tests showed that SCP-4043 could match any color of human flesh, even colors not normal to a human being, such as a green and blue tattoo that had been drawn on D-706's leg. SCP-4043 continued to move up D-706's body until it reached the neck, injecting D-706 with the liquid, turning D-706 into an instance of SCP-4043-2. SCP-4043 began to make first verbal communication with site staff. Containment protocol was changed to allow SCP-4043 to have hosts to allow for better communication.
