Item #: 9000J
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures:
Due to the virtual nature of SCP 9000, physical containment is not possible. The foundation is currently working with the ISP's and data centres to develop solutions to minimise any exposure to SCP 9000.
Description:
SCP 9000J is a roughly █ gigabyte executable file hosted online by █████████████████. When the file is opened, a program boots which appears to be a multiplayer game called "SCP ██████ laboratory". The game's menu signifies that players of the game are replicating events of LOG-A71, although the designation LOG-A71 has not yet been assigned.
The game features several SCP's, including ███,███,█████,███ and ███. The game has been known to both mimic several foundation facilities, as well as some for which no record exists. The means as to how this information was obtained is unknown.
Test subjects who play the game reports it as "garbage", or "unplayable". However, after 2-3 hours of playtime, the subject appears to be unable to stop playing, despite continuing to protest the quality of the game. After this threshold has been crossed, the effects of SCP 9000J are irreversible. While subjects separated from the game displayed no ill affects aside from expressing a strong will to play the game, subjects who aren't separated will be unable to stop playing, and shall be named SCP 9000-2J from this point onwards.
While not a lethal condition, 100% of instances of SCP 9000-2J forgo anything approaching an active or healthy lifestyle. While often able to perform basic duties, such as cleaning and feeding themselves, SCP 9000-2J will often profess a lack of interest in doing other things like going outside, socialising or even pursuing the opposite sex. SCP 9000-2J also often reports feeling jaded and irritable. In this sense, SCP 9000 is not immediately fatal, but can take as long as the rest of the subjects natural life to kill its victim. Because of the nature of SCP 9000J and 9000-2J and the current ease of availability, records of all subjects and personnel exposed to SCP 9000J past the 2-3 hour threshold are to be considered SCP 9000-2J.
