Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-XXXX is to be contained in a 10x10 meter room and observation must be carried out at a 2 meter distance from the object. Under no circumstances are Class-D personnel allowed in SCP-XXXX's containment area. Personnel assigned to preform testing, must under go a psychological evaluation and must not have any mental stances on morality of great significance.

Description:
SCP-XXXX is a 20 meter long chain composed of 98% cast iron steel. The chain is currently wrapped around 7 corpses, each in varying states of decomposition. The removal of these bodies from SCP-XXXX is currently impossible, when removal is attempted the chains tighten in order insure that the bodies do not escape SCP-XXXX's grasp. The chains are unable to be cut, warped, heated or cooled if the intention is to free the corpses from its grasp.

SCP-XXXX was first found in █████, England after previous experimentation led to a Class-D escape attempt. After searching the local county side for ██ hours they found the Class-D inside an old 17th century castle. The Class-D tried to evade local security personnel by running down to the dungeon, after a minute of pursuit the sound of rustling chains could be heard followed by the screams of the Class-D personnel. The Class-D was found unable to move and wrapped up in SCP-XXXX, following this the on site security chief, Agent G████¹ moved towards the object in order to get the Class-D out. After getting within 5 meters of the object the chains lashed out and wrapped around Agent G████, pulling him into the mass of chains. Further investigation of mass led to the discovery of 3 other bodies and an inscription at the bottom of the cell along with a corpse separate from the chains. The two personnel died in under 1 minute from asphyxiation and the removal of SCP-XXXX was carried out by personnel who were not connected to or under the command of Agent G████.

To the worst of the worst, to sinners of man, many fall do to your actions and many more will come. These chains will bind and grind your souls to dust and not even your bodies will escape its grasp. And to the monsters of the world, to those that will not die, your evil will keep you locked in these chains forever. I give my life to start this ritual and when people like me come to contain you, you will never escape.

This inscription is likely from the corpse that was separate and is currently in a biological containment unit for further testing. DNA results from the course determined it to be a biologic ancestor to persons of interest and anomalous properties connected to the serpents hand including [Data Expunged]. One such descendant A█████ M█████ is to remain under constant surveillance and if any anomalous properties are displayed by the subject they are to be taken in to custody immediately.

Addendum XXXX-1:
The restriction on Class-D personal has been lifted for these test logs in order to determine SCP-XXXX senses of morality and possible sentience. Carried out by Dr. █████

+ Test Logs

Test 1 - 21/██/2018

Subject: Two Class-D designation D-XXXX-3 and D-XXXX-4
Procedure: Move both, one at a time as close to SCP-XXXX as possible with out triggering its anomalous effects. Both Class-D were instructed to stop if they saw movement.
Results: D-XXXX-3 entered the room and proceeded to reach the 5 meter mark before movement was observed from SCP-XXXX. D-XXXX-4 entered the room and reached the 7 meter mark.
Analysis: SCP-XXXX seems to have a limited sentience and did not treat the subjects equally. The object was able to determine the supposed severity of the crimes, as D-XXXX-4 was a suspect for the murder of █ people and D-XXXX-3 killed his wife after finding her [Data Expunged]. This also concludes that SCP-XXXX has limited mind reading capabilities, further study of this effect is needed. -Dr. █████

Test 2 - 22/██/2018

Subject: One D-class designation D-XXXX-5
Procedure: Move Class-D to closest point that is available and then inform them to preform a malicious act.
Results: D-XXXX-5 moved to the 6 meter mark before movement and was then unsure of what to do. One of the facility guards was then informed to give him a knife and D-XXXX-5 was then informed to throw the knife in the general direction of the researchers (Note: The researchers were behind protective glass at this time.). This would theoretically constitute as malicious as it would be intend to cause harm. However once the facility guard got there D-XXXX-5 reached for his gun and tried to preform an escape attempt with a hostage. SCP-XXXX reached out and wrapped around D-XXXX-5's legs before he got the gun and proceeded to pull him into the mass of whirling chains. The last reported thing D-XXXX-5 said while being dragged in was "Oh god no, I didn't mean it please.", he died of asphyxiation 1 minute later.
Analysis: SCP-XXXX seems to have an understanding of impending danger and is able to correctly determine what constitutes as malicious. It also appears that more current actions have greater influence on its decisions as well. -Dr. █████

Test 3 - 23/██/2018

Subject: One Class-D designation D-XXXX-6
Procedure: Apply Class-C Amnestics to remove memories of previous criminal activity, and move towards SCP-XXXX
Results: D-XXXX-6 was able to reach SCP-XXXX, however when touched the D-Class stated "Hold on I rembAHHHHHHH." and then was proceeded to be strangled by SCP-XXXX and died 1 minute later from asphyxiation. SCP-XXXX was also seen to grow to its now current length of 20 meters in order to accommodate the new victim.
Analysis: SCP-XXXX was not able to determine that the Class-D was breaching its engraved moral code, however when touched it was able to reach into his mind and access the memories previously blocked. With its growth I suggest that we suspend testing with Class-D personnel until we can determine how to stop both the instincts of SCP-XXXX and the smell. -Dr. █████

Description:
SCP-XXXX is a 20 meter long chain composed of 98% cast iron steel. The chain currently is wraped around 6 bodies, each in varying states of decomposition. The remove of these bodies from SCP-XXXX is currently impossible; when removal is attempted the chains tighten in order insure that the bodies do not escape SCP-XXXX's grasp. The chains are unable to be cut, warped, heated or cooled if the intention is to free the corpses from its grasp. However if the intent is not to release the bodies than the chain may be cut allowing the creation of another instance of SCP-XXXX where the original will slowly grow back to the size of 20 meters. The copy will also grow to 1 meter and displays the same property's of SCP-XXXX. Any further experimentation that results in another instance of SCP-XXXX is forbidden and any attempt to do so will result in immediate termination.

Currently there are five such instances of SCP-XXXX labeled SCP-XXXX-(1-5) and are used in Keter class containment scenarios. In these scenarios when SCP-XXXX meets with another anomalous object that it determines to be malicious it wraps around and anchors the object, expanding to fit its size. Objects that are determined to be have no sentience or lower sentience² however are not able to be contained. Whether this is the result of instincts not inherently being determined evil by its moral code or because lower sentience creatures do not have the capability to be evil is unknown at this time.

The current SCPs contatied by SCP-XXXX include; SCP-████, SCP-████, SCP-████ and [Redacted]. The application of SCP-XXXX reduced containment breaches of these Keter class objects to zero and is showing further application of determining what anomalous objects are instinctual and what are sentient.
