Item #: SCP-4731
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4371 is to be placed in a metal container with a volume of at least 5 cubic feet, the walls of which are to be no less than 2.5 centimeters thick. SCP-4731's container is to be placed on a metal table 1 meter in height, and whose top has an area of 1.25 square meters. SCP-4731's containment cell has a volume of 7 cubic meters, allowing for ample space for SCP-4731 to demonstrate its anomalous properties. Class C personnel who have previously interacted with harmful or Keter-Class SCPs within the previous 24 hours are to be given Class B amnestics, as to prevent possible interference with SCP-4731's anomalous properties.
Description: SCP-4731 is a slab of jade in the shape of a rectangle that has a volume of 3 feet by 1.5 feet by 2 centimeters. SCP-4731 has numbers and letters of the English alphabet engraved in its top face. There is also a small planchette that accompanies SCP-4731, known as SCP-4731-1. SCP-4731 is highly resistant to most forms of damage, but can be shattered with the use of a hydraulic press, after which the pieces will liquify and seek each other out to change into SCP-4731's original form. When someone touches SCP-4731-1, they can freely move the planchette over the top face of SCP-4731, finishing the name of whatever they want to summon by hovering over a small engravement spelling out the word "Complete." When the "Complete" engraving is selected, a large amount of opaque green liquid pours out of the sides of SCP-4731, gathering in an open space to take the shape of the object whose name was spelled. The completed object, known as SCP-4731-A, features the same abilities, texture, color, and chemical composition of the original object. SCP-4731-A is dispelled once the subject moves at least 3 meters away from SCP-4731, during which the object dissolves into the aforementioned green liquid, which flows back into the sides of SCP-4731. SCP-4731 is able to duplicate itself when in the presence of two or more subjects, to allow for each subject to use SCP-4731 simultaneously. In this case, SCP-4731 acts in the same way as it originally would, but its effective range is divided by how many copies of it are in the vicinity. SCP-4721's copies are dispelled once the second test subject leaves a 3 meter radius of the original copy of SCP-4731.
Recovery: SCP-4731 was discovered shortly following the purchase of a previously closed Chinese restaurant in Cincinnati, Ohio. The restaurant was converted into a small home for a family of four. The father of the family contacted authorities after his nine-year-old son discovered SCP-4731 in the basement of their new home. Allegedly, the son used SCP-4731 to create a duplicate of his favorite possession, a large plush snake. The boy's father walked into the basement as SCP-4731-A was being formed, still in its semi-liquid state. The boy was surprised by his father finding out about SCP-4731, and as such started to back away from SCP-4731, which after a certain distance led to the dispelling of SCP-4731-A. The boy's father was highly concerned about the potential danger of keeping SCP-4731, and as such, contacted the local authorities, who ordered SCP-4731 to be taken by Foundation personnel.
Test Logs:
Test A
Subjects: Two C-Class personnel
Procedure: Two C-Class personnel are to enter SCP-4731's containment chamber and attempt to create a copy of SCP-999.
Results: After hovering over the "Complete" option, SCP-4731-A took the form of SCP-999, complete with its ability to produce sounds, scents, and its signature ability to bring pure joy to those who contact it. One of the test subjects simply sat down in front of SCP-4731's table to play with SCP-999. The playing lasted for approximately three hours before the other test subject could successfully remove the first subject from SCP-4731's area of effect.
Analysis: SCP-4731 can be used to create copies of living things. There also appears to be no short-term time limit for SCP-4731's creations. Further tests have yet to confirm this hypothesis.
Test B
Subjects: Three C-Class Personnel
Procedure: Three C-Class Personnel are to enter SCP-4731's containment chamber and attempt to get two instances of SCP-4731-A to interact with each other.
Results: Two instances of SCP-4731-A were created, taking the shape of two inanimate mannequins. The two active test subjects were then ordered to force the mannequins to touch each other. After forcing the mannequins to touch, one test subject noticed that there was a bright green spot on the point at which the mannequins touched. After pushing the mannequins further into each other, the mannequins dissolved back into their liquid forms, finding their way back to their respective instance of SCP-4731.
Analysis: Instances of SCP-4731-A will dispell each other when they make contact.
