Description: SCP-XXX-J is a phenomenon that occurs within most foundation files and records. SCP-XXX-J is the instance of standard highlighter ink (from here on referred to as SCP-XXX-J1) on SCP Foundation documents being inexplicably converted into black ink (hereafter named SCP-XXX-J2).
SCP-XXX-J makes any information highlighted on illegible to all readers, as text is indistinguishable from the black highlighter ink. Because of this, most instances of SCP-XXX-J go completely unnoticed, as they are confused with purposeful redactions. This has caused a major loss of valuable data that could be used in the understanding of numerous SCPs.
Occurrences of SCP-XXX-J only develop between 3-4 hours of SCP-XXX-J1 being applied to paper. Once the change has occurred, all replicas of the information originally highlighted will be covered with SCP-XXX-J2 to the same extent as the first document. This effect includes digital copies, pictures, and even recordings. There have been no recordings of SCP-XXX-J, and it is hypothesised that the change will not occur of the page is being observed. Any data lost to SCP-XXX-J1 can not be recorded again, as it will also be affected by SCP-XXX-J after 1-3 minutes.
SCP-XXX-J1 shows no anomalous properties, and consists of standard materials for highlighter ink, such as pyrene-based dyes for standard yellow-hued highlighters. However, after it's transformation into SCP-XXX-J2, it's composition changes into a unregistered chemical compound that has similarities to metals such as [DATA EXPUNGED].
