A picture of SCP-#-A before [REDACTED].
Item #: SCP-#
Object Class: Thaumiel Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-# is only to be approached on January 31st of any given year never to be approached by any sapient lifeform. Any persons who have made physical contact with SCP-# are designated instances of SCP-#-B, and are to be immediately terminated before they interact with personnel who have not also made contact with SCP-#. Any persons who have made contact with SCP-#-B are to be terminated in an identical manner.
The exterior of SCP-#-A is to be regularly upkept by D-Class housed more than 5 km from SCP-#-A. Unauthorized personnel are prohibited from being within 5 km of SCP-#-A. Two circular fences have been erected around SCP-#-A: a standard barbed wire chain-link fence has been constructed 5 km from SCP-#-A, and a 5 m tall concrete barrier that is constantly patrolled has been constructed 2 km from SCP-#-A.
Description: Following the events of [REDACTED] all research and documentation of SCP-# were determined to have been tampered with by SCP-B instances. It is unclear if any information the Foundation had pertaining to SCP# was reliable. The file was also found to contain at least two infohazards, the effects of which have been documented in (Addendum 1). As such, 95% of the original documentation regarding SCP# has been destroyed. While the foundation has made significant efforts to redocument SCP#'s anomalous properties, said properties have made research into SCP-# extremely difficult.
SCP-# is an unknown lifeform that inhabits the 5km containment zone that surrounds SCP-A1. SCP-# is believed to be an headless, eight limbed primate estimated to be between 2-3 meters tall. SCP-# is capable of bipedal and quadrupedal locomotion at speeds estimated to be between 15-30 km/h. While SCP-# is not believed to be sapient, it has been observed to stalk sapient life that enters it's area of habitation. SCP-# will maintain this stalking behavior as long as it's targets display no interest in locating SCP-#. If sapient lifeforms do attempt to approach SCP-#, a SCP-#-1 event will occur. All atmospheric moisture within 20 kilometers will be drawn toward the SCP-A containment zone where it will form anomalous fog, designated as SCP-#-1. The formation of an SCP-#-1 event creates low visibility conditions in under a minute. There is substantial evidence to suggest that the fog cannot form on certain days, such as the 31st of January, or if local humidity is insufficient for the creation of fog. SCP-#-1 events will occur, regardless of other atmospheric conditions. Navigation of an SCP-#-1 event without use of a manmade structure will result in arrival at the northmost point of border fence, regardless of starting location or distance traveled within the phenomenon. An SCP-#-1 event will dissipate over a 20-24 hour period.
SCP-#'s fur is believed to a highly complex parasite responsible for the creation of SCP-B instances. When a "live"2 sample of SCP-#'s fur comes into contact with human tissue, approximately 2mm off the end of each hair will break off and begin burrowing toward the nearest nerve. Upon reaching the nerve, the parasite will send a series of complex electrical signals which transform the entire nervous system and all hair3 into a genetic replica of SCP-#'s fur. The entire process takes approximately 5 minutes to transform a healthy adult into an SCP-B instance. Immediate amputation of the tissue surrounding the contact site has prevented the creation of an SCP-B instance under laboratory conditions.
SCP-B instances are capable of exceeding the normal physical limitations of the human body. SCP-B instances retain all the memories of host and are believed to possess intimate knowledge of SCP-# and SCP-A. Instances have also demonstrated an elevated resistance to most cognitiohazards and infohazards. The extensive research into limits of SCP-B did not survive the deletion of SCP-# initial file. The intentional creation of SCP-B instances for the purposes of testing has not been authorized at this time, due to a high risk of a containment breach. SCP-B instances actively attempt to create more SCP-B by forcing contact with their genetically restructured hair. SCP-B instances have spent a significant amount of time attempting to discover a method for sapient lifeform to be able to approach SCP-# without triggering an SCP-#-1 event.4
SCP-A was a stone tower located at the center of the SCP-#'s effective range. The exact nature of SCP-A anomalous properties have been lost as a result of [REDACTED]. What is known is that SCP-A has devolved antimemetic properties which make ascertaining the current nature of SCP-A difficult. The only aspect of SCP-A that D-class personnel are able to recall about SCP-A is it's current state of repair and the necessary materials required to fix it. There is a strong correlation between SCP-A current state of repair and the surrounding area. Since the construction of the concrete barrier and chain-link fence, neither have required maintenance as long as D-class personnel continue to maintain the exterior of SCP-A. Researchers have also reported malfunctioning equipment returning to normal functionality after spending a few hours in SCP-A's containment zone.
