Item#: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid Keter
Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is located on Site-22. It is to be contained in a 12 x 12 x 12-meter containment cell with no windows. The walls of this cell are to be made of marble and covered with a 3 cm thick layer of sound foam. This containment cell should be outfitted with a single, 3 row bookshelf containing at least 30 different books. These books are to be changed every 1-2 months and should contain no information on any form of demon, extra-terrestrial threats and other anomalies with ill intention towards humankind. Any and all information about dangerous SCP’s and anomalies should be kept from SCP-XXXX whether it is in the form of speech, literature or thought. If such a situation is to occur, a mixture of tear gas and anesthetics should be released in the room from 4 tubes in every ceiling corner of the room for 2 minutes or until SCP-XXXX has returned to a docile state.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a spherical being with a diameter of 10 cm and weighs approximately 3 kilograms. In the middle of its "body" is a single eye that appears to have been painted on with an unknown substance. The eye also seems to act and react like a normal human eye despite its shape and lack of any physiology. The eye doesn't close unless it’s resting or under direct stress. SCP-XXXX maneuvers and performs its reading using either its tendrils formed into thin arachnid-like limbs or by simply floating to wherever it wishes. SCP-XXXX also emits a voice like that of an adult male voice that can only be heard by those it is directly trying to communicate with and allows them to read the targets thoughts, but this can only occur with direct sight of SCP-XXXX’s open eye. The voice is commonly referred to as melodic yet intimidating. SCP-XXXX's body mass is inorganic and is made of a substance comparable to concrete in both color and texture but not durability. In a recent test, it has reported to feel pain although it shows no signs of physical damage when harmed by any Grade-A military ballistics. Further test are ongoing with extreme caution not to damage SCP-XXXX to reprehensible lengths. SCP-XXXX can grow up to 2,000 tendrils if it feels threatened. These tendrils have a sharpness comparable to that of a steel blade and can stretch for up to 21 kilometers each and move at up to 1 Kilometer per second. Within these tendrils is a deadly toxin that is injected into aggressors. Anyone who contracts this toxin is to be detained within an hour. The toxin and its effects are referred to as the Ential Disease (See Test 1-A). As discovered in Test-1B, SCP-XXXX doesn't require water or food but does require at least 4 days of rest. SCP-XXXX can rest for up to 2 months before waking. Origin of SCP-XXXX is unknown, but it does seem to enjoy English and Latin literature. If SCP-XXXX is to hear, read, or telekinetically discover anything pertaining to dangerous anomalies or potentially dangerous SCP’s that put human life at risk it will evolve into a state completely different than the original. Reverting to its original form can be obtained using a combination of tear gas and anesthetics created from very particular and rare elements (notably a weakness it created for itself as a failsafe). (See MTF Log-1A and Interview 1-A for more details.)
Addendum: Retrieval SCP-XXXX was first discovered in █████, Iowa on December 15, ████ by an unknown female explorer. After reporting's of this strange entity roaming an unmarked cave reached local authorities, MTF’s were sent in to recover this "One-Eyed Kraken". SCP-XXXX did not resist and was easily detained within 20 minutes. There was no sign of the woman it was reported to be traveling with.
Interview 1-A 12/30/███
Interviewed: SCP-XXXX
Interviewer: Doctor ███
Foreword: SCP-XXXX gives some vague information of its origin and purpose as well as explains its two states and their purpose. The scientist writes down everything that the SCP speaks into his mind.
<Begin Log, 7:30pm>
Doctor ███ - SCP-XXXX, are you awake?SCP-XXXX - Yes Doctor, I am.
Doctor ███ - I have a few questions for you. Answer them in full.
SCP-XXXX - Of course Doctor.
Doctor ███ - Alright. What are you?
SCP-XXXX - I am The Outcast. A Monster. An Entity. A Protector.
Doctor ███- The outcast? Clarify.
SCP-XXXX - I was exiled Doctor. I didn’t see the views of my superiors as reasonable and thus I was removed before my pragmatic philosophies could spread.
Doctor ███ - There are others like you?
SCP-XXXX - No, no others like me. I can create, they can only destroy.
Doctor ███ - Interesting. How exactly did you get to our planet?
SCP-XXXX - I was tossed into a what you consider a black hole. As you humans have yet to discover, they are the key to interdimensional travel and not an all destroying rift in space.
(The scientist immediately writes down these findings to report to the others, an expression of awe on his face).
Doctor ███ - You seem to sleep a lot. Do you ever have any dreams?SCP-XXXX - Yes Doctor. I frequently dream about my human companion.
Doctor ███ - I see. Is she the one that taught you to speak Latin?
SCP-XXXX - Indeed. I already had a strong knowledge of English due to the time I spent around the campers and the media they left behind. The women would also read to me whenever she hiked by. One day she stopped coming.
Doctor ███ - That brings me to my next question. Why do you enjoy humans and their literature so much?
SCP-XXXX - Humans are the only beings that have interested me because I envy them. To be able to taste the wondrous and even vulgar foods created makes me green with envy Doctor. To be able to be loved and be able to even die is what I envy. I also need to learn how to protect the humans, meaning I must know their mental and emotional fears. Those readings also help me refine my abilities.
Doctor ███ - This is the second time you mentioned "protecting". Explain.
SCP-XXXX - I can’t elaborate fully Doctor. The mere knowledge of the beings themselves and their existence would instantly drive you mad. However, with the more knowledge you give me, the more potential I gain to protect you by altering my own matter and state to counter all dangers brought to this planet. Sadly, I have yet to learn to control the state I refer to as “Assault” mode.
Doctor ███ -Emhm…. we have yet to know how it activates or what it does, we only know of it because you told us about it.
SCP-XXXX - Accidently. I have yet to learn how to control the changes I make and how to control the impulses I was born with. That is another reason why I am The Outcast among my people.
Doctor ███ - You can control this docile mode and the Ential disease you secrete. What’s the difference?
SCP-XXXX -Inherited ability vs. Learned ability. The very power I have inherited is the very one that will threaten wipe out all of mankind and its creations. But I am unique. My power is only limited by my knowledge
Doctor ███ - I see, I see. Does that mean your abilities can potentially be limitless? Could you exterminate beings on this planet that we cannot? Other organisms we haven’t been able to contain yet?!
SCP-XXXX - There are beings here of that magnitude…
[SCP-XXXX closes its eye and refuses to answer any questions for approximately 1 minute before the Assault mode is triggered. It proceeds to form a giant fist by coiling and layering its tendrils before punching through the brick containment cell with such force that cause a mass destruction of the facility and the breach of multiple other SCP’s. Doctor███, who made only eye contact with SCP-XXXX had his eyes ignited from what we assume was SCP-XXXX and collapsed after an eruption of blood spewed from his ear canals, nostrils and mouth, later discovered to be the internal eruption of his brain tissue through an unknown force.]
<End Log,7:40pm>
Closing Statement: "Further Interviews and Test are being scheduled. SCP-XXXX shows its full cooperation to Interviews but does still pose some threats during test. I am requesting Test between SCP-XXXX and SCP-███ due to their disease carrying forms" -Doctor██████
Test 1A – 3/12/████
Subject: D-Class 1374
Procedure: D-Class 1374 is to provoke the SCP-XXXX until it attacks. Once scans prove that toxins are present in the Subjects body, the Subject is to be monitored for the next 24 hours
Results: During the following 30 minutes prior to injection, the Subject showed signs of decreased body function and screamed at random before falling completely silent. During the hour mark, the subject screamed for 10-20 minutes until they're vocal cords became too weak to make any type of sound. Within an hour and thirty minutes, strange tendrils sprouted from the Subjects mouth, nose, ear canal, and anus. These tendrils burrowed through the floors and walls and locked the Subject firmly in place. An attempt to detain the Subject resulted in spores containing the "Ential Disease" being released from the now mangled eyes. MTF’s that inhaled or touched these spores with skin contact would immediately replicate the Subjects symptoms at a far quicker rate. **
Analysis: The Ential Disease is very deadly and can spread via toxin or spores. The spores will die if they do not find a host within 15 seconds, giving us a far more secure way of handling the spread if necessary. Subjects will go through a strange transformation that is done within an hour and thirty minutes. Subjects maintain vital signs while in this state oddly and show no signs of returning to normal.**
MTF Theta-Ray LOG 1A – 4/23/0000
SCP-XXXX’s containment was pretty simple for the second coming of teams to capture it. Sadly, our first dispatch wasn’t so lucky. We found a lot of spent bullet shells and heavy weaponry around some of the corpses. About 14 of the 20 MTF’s were located, the other 5 are missing and 1 survivor was found, the youngest of the crew. He explained how all the members who opened fire or looked at the SCP’s eye died. Those who starred died the way the Doctor did but those who opened fire were killed either by being crushed, set ablaze from a distance or just completely disappeared instantly, leaving their weapons behind. We eventually figured out that violence and negativity weren’t the ways after relaying the intel to the facility. The only weakness was the eye as discovered in some lab test the Doctors did. Equipped with tear gas and optimism we followed the looming and ever moving figure of SCP-XXXX, who was using its tendrils as legs. Strangely enough, it destroyed everything in its path with such ease, no force need be applied. Kinda funny that mere tear gas and happy thoughts could take down such a thing. Were lucky he’s on our side. I’ve asked the doctors why they don’t just remove the books, since that would stop the whole crazy ability creating thing, but they think it could
