Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4998 must be kept in lead lined room that is made of heat resistant and damage resistant materials and have turrets to terminate defiant D-Class personnel who use gained effects to try to escape and/or do not cooperate. Personnel are only allowed to eat one piece of SCP-4998. The containment room for SCP-4998 must have blast doors which are to be dropped in the occurrence of a subject eating two pieces of SCP-4998. After the consumption of two pieces of SCP-4998 repairs are to be performed immediately to ensure that other SCP's do not escape. The containment cell for SCP-4998 is to be kept away from other cells where there is a risk of something escaping.
Description: SCP-4998 is a small movie box of candy with 251 candies of various sizes remaining inside, which look identical to skittles. Each candy grants random power that differ significantly. No powers are the same as others from SCP-4998 to current knowledge. All attempts to create more SCP-4998 have failed, partly due to the reason that SCP-4998 can only be changed by sapient creatures eating it. Upon SCP-4998 being eaten, it is impossible to retrieve except by the subjects death upon which the subjects corpse will turn into light and merge into the candy that was consumed. Upon the consumption of two candies the subject will explode with the power of half a megaton of TNT that will proceed to form into extreme amounts of light and condense into the candies consumed. SCP-4998 flavors correlate to the colors and design of each candy. I.E. A candy designed as a cupcake with coloration and shape gave the subject the ability to create baked goods at will. It is necessary to eat the entire candy to gain the effect, failure to do so makes the subject fall unconscious for 24 hours and the candy to reform.
Addendum 4998- 1: SCP-4998 was retrieved from a closed rundown movie theater where a gang was using SCP-4998 to control the area. Agents were tipped off by agents in the local police force. Retrieving SCP-4998 led to a fire fight where █ agents died due to SCP-4998 before the gang was destroyed. Powers identified from fight were control over lightning and the ability to morph into sea creatures. SCP-4998 was identified by 2 dead corpses turning into pieces of SCP-4998 that matched those in SCP-4998.
Addendum 4998- 2: D-Class ████ was brought to the cell to eat a piece of the candy. Upon consumption of SCP-4998 in the shape and coloration of a spray can the subject glowed for 3 seconds before a tattoo of a paint bucket forming on the subjects hand. The subject immediately understood how to use the power and and proceeded to fire pressurized paint at the walls in an attempt to escape. Subject was terminated with fire, upon which SCP -4998 reformed.
Addendum 4998- 3: Research Assistant ████ was brought to the cell this time to prevent defiant behavior. Upon eating a candy in the shape of a cupcake the research assistant reported that he instantly acquired knowledge of how to use SCP -4998 after glowing and the tattoo of a cupcake tattoo appearing. The assistant then demonstrated the ability to conjure baked goods of choice, choosing to create furniture made of freshly made rice krispie treat. Research assistant ████ was allowed to live for further research in the properties of SCP -4998 and for use in other SCP research. The research assistant is also allowed to stock the break room with the baked goods.
Addendum 4998- 4: A new research assistant was brought in to the cell for more research into SCP 4998's properties. Upon consumption of 2 SCP 4998 the research assistant starting glowing much brighter than previous assistants and started screaming in pain before exploding, killing the head researcher and personnel observing the experiment and almost releasing SCPs in nearby cells. SCP 4998 has since been moved to a location away from dangerous SCPS.
