Special Containment Procedures: Intense cold is required to enclose this entity in a cage made from glass¹. It is strictly prohibited to let any form of air movement into the room. There are refrigeratory devices that keep the room temperature at -28.8889 degrees Celcius (-20 Fahrenheit.) The machinery keeping the room at a very low temperature must be kept under strict observation. Should the generators fail, it would result in the entity’s awakening. Personnel within the room must move with extreme caution as to not disturb the air. Personnel must also wear a full plastic bodysuit and an air tank within the suit. The bodysuit must then be incinerated and the ashes are to be Compressed with water and then disposed of as if toxic material.

Description: The entity is that of a pile of ashes. When a draft of air hits SCP-5031, it would begin to seemingly ignite from the inside. Once completely luminescent, looking like paper-thin embers. Anyone who makes visual contact with SCP-5031 during this sage will instantly disintegrate into ashes. The ash pile then disappears, and then SCP-5031 will once again be at rest.

Addendum: This SCP has been known for making large amounts of liquid methane dew appear on the inside of its containment cell. It is currently held at Site-17.
