Wanted Number: 5513

Chosen Name: The Lotus Giver

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX requires little to no maintenance when passive and is fairly compliant with personnel requests, however, SCP-XXXX insists on having an antique chair, similar in design to a throne from the victorian era. No strange anomalies have been identified concerning this chair. Despite this, to tackle its sometimes unpredictable behaviour, SCP-XXXX is stored in a containment room with concrete walls, a single glass window(5 inches thick) and a vault door(made of cast iron)for D-Class to enter for experiments. There are multiple openings in the ceiling for task force soldiers to fire when SCP-XXXX is aggravated. The area of the room floor is 50 square metres and the walls are 6 metres high, far taller than SCP-XXXX even when standing on its chair and more importantly, when it is at full extremity length (refer to metamorphic abilities for more info.)

In the event that SCP-XXXX’s identified “triggers” are shown, floodlights and radiation heaters will be activated whilst task force soldiers proceed to fire at it if SCP-XXXX begins to screech.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a humanoid creature covered in a black substance that acts as its skin. The substance has been peeled off and described to be liquid like and has been compared to hot tar. Parts of XXXX’s body have been shown to have varying texture with the substance around it’s claws being smoothest overall.

It was originally believed to be malnourished due to its bony physique and lack of ingestion or excretion.

Its hands have large claws used to impale victims for creation of its petals(refer to incident 1 for more info on creation of petals.) It drags its hands around due to its exceptionally long extremities, ranging anywhere from 1.26 to 2.96 metres(refer to “metamorphic abilities” for more information.)

It can secrete a transparent solution(identified as SCP-XXXX-1)on command that is used to assist its main anomalous ability.

As for measurements, SCP-XXXX is 2.43 metres high and surprisingly heavy for its thin body, this is because of its claws and petals(refer to “SCP-XXXX-2” for more info on the petals), in total, SCP-XXXX weighs about 178 kg.

It’s nickname(The Lotus Giver)comes from the petals on it’s wrists, ankles and neck, which are arranged similarly to Victorian cuffs and its parallels and potential connections to the “Lotus Eaters”, a chapter in the Greek myth, “The Odyssey”.

SCP-XXXX’s anomalous ability is to take an interest or addiction of it’s victims and cause them to focus on only on this newly-formed obsession and causes its victims to isolate themselves SCP-XXXX can identify these interests through it’s other abilities or just from analysis.

An example of this would be of this very research. SCP-XXXX is very open with its history and abilities as it is fully aware of the foundation’s intentions. To avoid personnel from being manipulated by SCP-XXXX’s abilities, staff entered into the containment room one by one, each writing down a certain amount of words spoken by SCP-XXXX. A-Class, being the most invested in research of the anomalies, didn’t write down any words under any circumstances and continue to not. B and C-class wrote anywhere from one to five words and D-Class, being least invested in research, wrote a minimum of ten.

Addendum:

Research:

“Triggers”
SCP-XXXX powers and behaviour seem to have patterns relating to temperatures.

When first transported to its containment unit, SCP-XXXX seems to have been controlling the temperature around it to keep its body cold.

This could be due to it’s black skin and how it may sustain its petals as there are no clear signs of photosynthesis or any other form of sustenance for its petals.

It can control area temperature in a 2 metre radius.

This is why Space heaters were added as they seem to cause SCP-XXXX distress and cause it to lose focus during assaults on staff.

This cannot be confirmed as extraction of innards when forming petals requires a form of evaporation whilst also maintaining a cold temperature(Refer to incident 1 for info on the creation of petals.)

“Sustenance”
SCP-XXXX’s petals are highly precious to it and even mention of them can agitate it.

Defense of it presents the idea of SCP-XXXX’s survival being connected to the petals though loss of them has been proven although not whilst in containment.

According to SCP-XXXX, if it is able to produce enough petals, its wish will come true(Refer to incident 1 for info on the creation of petals.)

This cannot be confirmed due to SCP-XXXX lack of production of petals since containment.

“Anomaly’s Function”
SCP-XXXX’s powers seem to be based on an extreme version of suggestive brainwashing or hypnosis as its powers can only affect targets that already have an interest.

SCP-XXXX’s Recorded Origin:
Although it is not proven, SCP-XXXX has given it’s own version of it’s story.

SCP-XXXX was supposedly a boy called Felix Madden who was born in 1987 to Arthur Madden and Jamie Lauren. According to SCP-XXXX, Felix Madden had been neglected by his parents due to unknown reasons. At age 6, he was told by his mother that his dad was working for criminal organisations(evidence points to an organ harvesting organisation.) Not soon after, his parents offered him a toy if he would let them take him to the hospital. SCP-XXXX recalls seeing 5 blood bags with the fifth connected to a needle in his arm. Over the next year, XXXX states this was a monthly procedure, taking as much as a pint. Halfway through the year, they had taken him to have his kidney donated. By the end of the year, Felix was suffering from extreme hemorrhage. SCP-XXXX states that it recalls Felix dying and then waking as himself somewhere off the coast of Tunisia, supposedly on the island of Djerba where the “Lotus Eaters” story takes place. SCP-XXXX states that he had seen a divine being that would give him a second chance at life, explaining that if it produced enough petals through making people passionate, SCP-XXXX would become human again.

Foundation Incident: 001
To witness SCP-XXXX’s ability in containment, a D-Class subject was sent into SCP-XXXX’s containment room armed with a standard issue military glock with 7 bullets. When SCP-XXXX spots the weapon, it ascends from its throne causing the subject to raise the pistol and fire. It should be noted that standard bullets were recorded to have no effect on SCP-XXXX. Realizing this, the subject backed into the corner and held the gun close to his chest. SCP-XXXX proceeded to pull the subject to the center and placed its hand on the subject’s left cheek and dragged it to the subject’s temple and began to secrete a transparent solution(Identified as SCP-XXXX-1), the solution seemed to solidify and smoothen where the solution was applied(potentially explaining why SCP-XXXX has varying skin texture.) SCP-XXXX stated that he was obsessed with freedom, to quote: “So freedom is what you’re obsessed with? Well I shall give you what you want.” SCP-XXXX proceeded to split one petal revealing multiple layers within it, it then proceeded to take a piece of the centre layer and applied it to the neck of the subject and began to wrap around it and proceeded to cover the neck. Strands of the substance shifted to the back of the subject’s neck and grew in length and width and began to wrap around each other to form a rope. SCP-XXXX placed its thumb and index in the mouth of the subject, opened it up and pulled the tips up to force a smile and secreted SCP-XXXX-1 to solidify the shape of the mouth. Strands from the petal piece reached the ceiling and applied itself to the ceiling and turned a dark brown. This resulted in the hanging of the D-Class subject, SCP-XXXX then proceeded to state: “I made your wish come true, now you will make mine.” A black gas was released from the subject's mouth (Note. Room temperature dropped by 20 degrees) and flew to the forearm of SCP-XXXX and formed into a teardrop shape and soon enough, formed a new petal. This provided a proper analysis on SCP-XXXX’s main abilities.

Foundation Incident: 002
SCP-XXXX is usually passive but has proven to be hostile when its petals are threatened. On March XXst of 20XX, C-Class personnel attempted to extract petals from SCP-XXXX. This caused extreme retaliation from SCP-XXXX.
Description: The petals seemed to have been pulled in as a head was revealed. The head seemed to have facial features of a young child, after 2.3 seconds, the face began to deform. SCP-XXXX developed incisors that are estimated to be 1.5 inches in length and an accurate 0.63 inches in width. SCP-XXXX proceeded to break out of it’s containment unit and terminate 5 members of personnel, 3 members of the task force and 2 C-Class members. SCP-XXXX stated that it was to make up for the 4 petals they had taken and a final one for compensation, SCP-XXXX soon grew 5 more petals. 3 of the 4 petals that had originally been extracted, were successfully obtained and went on to be experimented on (refer to SCP-XXXX-2 for more information on the petals.) SCP-XXXX’s was then re-classified as Euclid and defenses against its “Triggers” (refer to “Research” for more info) including space heaters, floodlights, and multiple firearms loaded with bullets laced with chemicals such as fluorine, which are dangerous to plants and strongly effect SCP-XXXX’s petals of which are recorded to be used as a weapon and energy source when hostile.

Sightings of SCP-XXXX:
Although no one outside the foundation is aware of SCP-XXXX’s existence, the recorded events have been fully confirmed to be caused by SCP-XXXX, including the event that resulted in its capture.

Incident 1:

January 6th 1982

The “Pinoa event” was SCP-XXXX’s most ambitious attack on humans that placed it on the foundation’s radar. SCP-XXXX assembled a drug cartel in Mexico that would reel in thousands of innocent lives to follow for an addiction. This showed signs of SCP-XXXX being able to form human allies as they were reeled in by addicts. SCP-XXXX had formed a drug identified as SCP-XXXX-3 or “Blooming Poison” that has been terminated from all records outside of the foundation. Remaining members of the cartel have been arrested, placed into psychiatric containment or given amnestics.

Incident 2:

September 21st 1996

5 seniors (Alice Katesly, Leo Braches, Jess Cooper, Ryan Ellis and Mia Davies) playing an RPG were found dead after breaking out of their homes to play their new obsession. To cover this up, the foundation altered the events of a past comic: “Dark Dungeons” and then hired a film company 30 years after its release to make a film adaptation to sustain the story’s relevance.

Incident (Resulting in capture):

August 14th 2016

Devin Jayman found a copy of the game “Tetris” that was created by SCP-XXXX and ensured that he would play the game non-stop until being killed whilst his eyes were strained, leaving Devin defenseless and unable to flee. Personnel were then used to pose as doctors coming to the conclusion that the boy had been playing a violent video game that resulted in dangerous behaviour and self harm. The foundation created more false cases to back up the conspiracy of video games causing violence.
