SCP-XXXX
Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX-1 is to be contained within a 15m x 15m x 15m plexiglass cell within a 25m x 25m x 25m concrete containment chamber with one (1) door that is to be guarded and locked at all times. Only with Head Researcher supervision may test subjects or SCP-XXXX-2 be allowed into the containment chamber.
All instances of SCP-XXXX-2 are to be kept under supervision by Researcher Gallaford at the site “nursery” and to be fed with supervision from the site cafeteria.
At maximum distance, SCP-XXXX-1 is still considered to be a cognitohazard as knowledge about it still provokes its effects, and therefore Class (C) amnestics are to be used on all personnel on a daily basis.
CAUTION: SCP-XXXX IS A KNOWN COGNITOHAZARD. ANY PERSONNEL ATTEMPTING TO ACCESS SCP-XXXX WITHOUT SITE DIRECTOR PERMISSION MAY BE DEMOTED OR TERMINATED.
Description: SCP-XXXX is an inanimate, humanoid doll approximately 137cm in height composed of a material closely resembling human hair pressed together to create a type of felt. Though somewhat resembling a prepubescent human female, SCP-XXXX is a matted gray color, has no distinguishable face, and lacks hands and feet at the end of its limbs. Additionally, SCP-XXXX contains one small red stone of indeterminate origin in place of where an eyeball would be located as well as appears to be holding a larger red stone in the shape of a valentines heart between its two stump hands.
SCP-XXXX’s effects are separated into three categories: Memetic (stage Alpha) and Transitional (Stage Beta), and Emergence (stage Omega)
During stage Alpha, SCP-XXXX-1’s memetic effects are directly proportional to the physical distance between it and any given subject. Even
Knowledge of SCP-XXXX with a proximity of over 25 m creates an incredibly defensive and protective attitude within any given subject towards SCP-XXXX. Subjects (SCP-XXXX before containment)
have been shown attempting to protect SCP-XXXX’s “reputation” when spoken of illy and have stated that would be willing to sacrifice their lives for its preservation. (see interview logs 3/// A,B, & D)
At a proximity of 15 - 25 m subjects become increasingly agitated and concerned with SCP-XXXX “well being”, often asking about its current state and actively searching for it. When told that SCP-XXXX is “fine” subjects will reject this statement, often saying that staff and personnel “don’t understand”. If SCP-XXXX is visible at this distance, subjects simply watch it with absolute focus and are resistant to any type of deviation from their current state.
When at a proximity of less that 15 m, subjects actively seek to make contact with SCP-XXXX regardless of visibility or barriers. Decreasing the distance between a subject and SCP-XXXX will increase the desperation of the subject to reach it. If allowed to make contact with SCP-XXXX, subjects will generally make contact in the form of an embrace or other method of consolation. Subjects will whisper to SCP-XXXX in an attempt to “make it feel better” until they have embraced it for a period of 28 minutes. Any attempt to remove a subject from their embrace of SCP-XXXX before the period of 28 minutes is up will result in an extremely hostile response to anyone or anything other than SCP-XXXX, often to the point of self harm to the subject. (See testing log 3///-15K)
After embracing SCP-XXXX for a period of 28 minutes, subjects will lose all interest in SCP-XXXX and discontinue their embrace and act as if they were never attracted to SCP-XXXX. At this point SCP-XXXX’s effects transition to stage Beta, physical manifestation.
1-2 days after entering stage Beta, subjects report stiff movements and limited flexibility that gradually worsen over the course of stage Beta. X-Ray analysis reveals that subjects’ bones are in fact slowly fusing together to create a singular unit, starting at the phalanges and moving towards the central rib cage. During fusion, regular bone growth seems to pause, causing bones to become more brittle. This process is gradual and does not become readily apparent until late into day 2 and continues for the rest of the stage.
At day 3 of Stage Beta, subjects begin to develop a severe form of Ichthyosis Vulgaris covering their entire body. Normal flaking of dead skin ceases and the dead skin accumulates on the body, while skin growth increases exponentially. At this time, appetite also increases while physical activity decreases due to restricted movement of bone fusion. If no source of food is provided to the affected subject, subjects will begin eating excess skin created by the Ichthyosis to satiate their increasing appetites.
Upon entering day 4 of Stage Beta, affected subject’s movement is completely restricted due to total skeletal fusion. At this time subjects generally begin to enter a comatose state, though time of loss of consciousness varies based on subject. This comatose state does not require any outside preservation of life, and seems to be self sustaining through the increased amount of nutrients acquired during day 3. Once completely under, subjects’ Ichthyosis begins developing from Ichthyosis Vulgaris to Harlequin-type Ichthyosis. Skin growth is still increasing at an exponential rate, however the outer layers begin to harden into a type of organic shell.
During day 5 & 6, affected subjects going through Stage Beta remain in their comatose state, however multiple changes take place within the body. Thermal analysis indicates that while comatose, subjects’ body temperature raise from 37* C up to over 70* C, additionally the outer shell of the subject’s body continues to harden and until the skin resembles a chitinous plating. This chitinous plating is extremely resistant to penetration or sampling and has a high enough density to prevent additional X-Ray analysis. Though not observable, weight testing and movement of the bodies show that the interior is completely liquid, implying that all interior organs dissolve, as well as the fused skeletal structure. During this time, mass and density are in constant fluctuation. All theories as to what exactly happens inside are speculative but based on observations on SCP-XXXX-2 emergence, the interior of the body is thought to begin to go through a type of metamorphosis, utilizing the shelled skin as a type of cocoon.
Day 7
Shelled skin begins cracking and plate sectioning occurs on the outer body. Pieces of skin begin to fall away as SCP-XXXX-2 begins to emerge. This is Stage Omega. SCP-XXXX-2 is collectively a humanoid child or prepubescent anatomically between the ages of 9-13 depending on the host subjects gender. SCP-XXXX-2’s irises and sclera are black, giving the appearance of almost doll-like eyes. DNA testing shows that any SCP-XXXX-2 has the same DNA as its host, however, SCP-XXXX-2 will not look like the what the host subject looked like as a child. SCP-XXXX-2 will emerge from its former body by pulling away at the chitin plating, splitting the body open. Upon emergence SCP-XXXX-2 will simply sit on the floor and wait until acted upon by personnel, another SCP-XXXX-2, or if it is in close proximity to SCP-XXXX-1.
Yada yada, can be trained to speak.
Yada yadda, SCP-XXXX-2 have their own language
Yada Yadda, SCP-XXXX-2 are unaffected by the doll but wish to (do something idk)
