Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid Safe

Special Containment Procedures:
One instance of SCP-XXXX should be sealed within a locked opaque container of 4"x4"x2" unless testing is being performed. This is to avoid accidental viewing of SCP-XXXX unless testing is being performed. All other instances of SCP-XXXX should be destroyed via incinerator as soon as they are acquired.

Testing on SCP-XXXX is to be done in the adjacent 10ftx10ft opaque room with no external observation. Only a single participant of security clearance level 5 or higher may perform testing on SCP-XXXX (Researcher Brans has been given special permission and is an exception to this rule). As of INCIDENT B6, SCP-XXXX is currently not allowed to be accessed by anyone but O5 members, or those directly given permission from the O5 Council.

While currently the Foundation holds the only known existing copy of SCP-XXXX, periodic releases of SCP-XXXX from an unknown source at site 24 to the general public originally caused concern. This is explained further in the SCP-XXXX's description as part of it's apprehension. As of the discovery of the origin point at site 24 the Foundation has been able to intercept the trucks before they reach distributes and retailers. This has allowed SCP-XXXX to be reclassified as Safe should this distribution method remain the same. While we are still unsure as to whom or where SCP-XXXX is actually printed we do always catch trucks full of them leaving from the site periodically.

Description:
SCP-XXXX is a book (standard 8 1/2" by 11" softcover print, in most cases) labeled [REDACTED], and appears to be consistently covered in a splash dried blood. Testing on this blood has proven inconclusive of it's origin, however it contains mostly human DNA. While the Foundation currently holds all known prints of this book; at seemingly random intervals more copies of this book become printed and distributed to the general public under the guise of a "Guidebook". The Foundation has been actively tracking down and acquiring all copies as quickly as possible after printing and distribution is recorded. Businesses receiving the book do not seem to know anything about the publisher, and the address on all packaging leads back to the Facility at site 24, even though no such printing occurs there.

SCP-XXXX seems to contain detailed information on SCP Foundation containment procedures and failings. Specifically it outlines breakout scenarios where multiple SCP breaches occur. It details how the breakout happens, which anomalies escape containment, and detailed facility layouts; but no description of containment or recovery of the facilities. From records comparisons it seems these breakout instances have not yet occurred, but review of breakout causes outlined in the book have revealed weaknesses in Foundation containment which have been promptly corrected. When a scenario is supposedly prevented using SCP-XXXX the book changes and predicts a new breakout situation. This seems to happen indefinitely.

Testing of SCP-XXXX has revealed that by reading it's current breakout scenario that it is guaranteed to come to pass unless prevented prior as per the guides instructions. Following TEST A8 testing has been restricted unless absolutely necessary, and under level 4 or higher supervision only. Class D subjects are not allowed to perform any testing on SCP-XXXX as information presented in the book may contain secrets too sensitive in nature.

TEST A3

Subject: D-4970 (Deceased)
Procedure: Subject was instructed to read the contents of the book allowed from a secure chamber. Recording implements attached to the subject.
Results: No anomalous effects occurred on D-4970. What the subject read contained information unlike what is generally known to security personnel level 3 and below. Test subject was executed after test to avoid information leaks. Personnel who participated in the test below security level 3 were given special conditions to remain testing on SCP-XXXX, or their memory was wiped and they've been reassigned.
Analysis: SCP-XXXX contains secure information that should not be made known to security levels 3 and below. Besides this no anomalous effects were discovered. Further testing is requested.

TEST A7

Subject: Researcher Brans (Designated official subject for SCP-XXXX under special level clearance conditions)
Procedure: Brans read the book silently then returned it to containment. He was interviewed immediately after.
Results: Brans reported differences in the books contents from the last test. It contained information on breachable locations in containment of SCP-████ and SCP-████. Problems were identified as real and resolved promptly.
Analysis: SCP-XXXX seems to be able to change and predict breakout scenarios and causes accurately.

TEST A8

Subject: Researcher Brans
Procedure: Brans read the book out loud into a recording device listened to by level 4 personnel. Descriptions of breakout scenarios outlined were recorded on paper and locked away at a secure location.
Results: To determine authenticity of SCP-XXXX descriptions the records were stored away and no actions taken to correct the containment issues presented in SCP-XXXX's description.
Analysis: Pending….

Addendum A8:
Two months after TEST A8 was performed a breakout at site 24 was found to coincide almost identically with the scenario outlined in SCP-XXXX. Requesting further testing.

TEST B6

Subject: Researcher Brans
Procedure: Brans reads from two SCP-XXXX. During reading special staff are sent to fix problems outlined in SCP-XXXX that could result in a breach of containment.
Results: As the breach risk areas were resolved SCP-XXXX changed to display new scenario's. Testing was extended, and new risk areas were found where there had previously been no risk.
Analysis: While SCP-XXXX gives us insight into any risks in our containment, it also seems to cause more damage elsewhere if those risks are resolved. It is recommended that no more testing be done on SCP-XXXX unless necessary.

INCIDENT B6
Researcher Brans was gunned down trying to leave the facility with SCP-XXXX. Apparently he tried to convince the guards that there was some kind of deeper conspiracy going on with the higher ups, and that this book contained the proof. After resisting capture Brans was [REDACTED] by the guard detail and SCP-XXXX recovered. It is unclear what Brans read as no new testing has been cleared. Currently only O5 members are allowed to access SCP-XXXX.
