Item #: SCP-5901

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5901 is to be contained in a 3 meter by 3 meter cell, placed on a metalic surface fitted with an enameled glass. The metalic surfaced is to be made of a non-ferous alloy. SCP-5901 can be handled by Class-D personnel and above, with the use of protective gloves.

Description: SCP-5901 is one of three nails used in the cruficixion of Jesus Christ. It is composed of a ferous material and is slightly magnetic. It measures roughly 3.7 inches in length and is coated in a thin layer of rust. It was first discovered at the ██████ household based in Central Turkey.

It has displayed the ability to embed itself into wooden materials it comes into contact with, such as Australian Buloke (Janka hardness of 5,060) without personnel having used force on it. Furthermore, it was sighted on the 21-03-██ to produce blood when embedded in all woods tested. Efforts to identify the genetic material contained in the blood has lead to it being identified as non-organic. In this particular case after having been embedded into Piptadenia Macrocarpa whilst testing it against wood types, several samples were taken. Its attraction to wooden objects has been sighted an equal amount of times as its attraction to human appendages - mainly hands - when in direct contact with skin. Currently [REDACTED] Class-D personnel have had appendages impaled by SCP-5901, of which none have proven fatal.

Although being identified as being 83% iron in composition, SCP-5901 is unbreakable with current technology used by the foundation. It also hasn't been observed to have any noticeable damage with the exception of the rust, which has been duly noted as an anomaly in its known properties.

07-11-██ at the ██████ facility:

SCP-5901 has been viewed glowing a pure golden light when in close contact with other religous relics, notably SCP-1650 and SCP-089. Further research to be conducted.
