Item #: SCP-4440
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: Outposts 35 through Outpost 40 has been erected around the perimeters of SCP-4440-A through SCP-4440-F, each under the guise of a"Chemical Spill". Personnel are to monitor SCP-4440 and check for any instances of SCP-4440-2 emerging from SCP-4440. All instances are to be taken to Site-██ for interrogation and monitoring. If provoked, instances of SCP-4440-2 are to be engaged with non-lethal force, unless fatal force is deemed necessary. New Copies of SCP-4440 are to have an outpost constructed around it, and any civilians with knowledge of SCP-4440's anomalous properties are to be given Class-C Amnestics. Personnel are to identify the current owners of the new copy and give amnestics accordingly.
Description: The first copy of SCP-4440 is a cabin in ████████, Washington, believed to have been built in 19██ by Bob █████1. The first copy of SCP-4440 (hereafter referred to as SCP-4440-A) came to the attention of the foundation when four members of the ██████ family went missing in the woods. Interrogation of the family's relatives revealed that SCP-4440-A was in the ownership of Bob ███████, and was given to his children upon his death. Further copies were brought to attention after similar incidents were reported by Foundation Field Agents. Every copy is in Washington except SCP-4440-E, which is located in ██████, Oregon. In all copies, each of the heirs report never knowing their father's involvement in SCP-4440.
On ██/██/2016, The estimated final copy of SCP-4440 was discovered, making six (6) copies of SCP-4440 known to the foundation. Each copy is in a seemingly random location in or surrounding Washingnton State, and the current as well as the previous owners are in no way related. In each instance of SCP-4440, the current owners are the male offspring of the instance's original owner. All original owners are believed to have constructed the SCP-4440 instances around the same time, (19██), as well as each of the original owners expiring around the same date, ██/██/20██.
In every instance of SCP-4440, there is a 1.5 x 1.5 meter trapdoor in the center of the living room beneath a red and white circular rug. Beneath the trapdoor lies a black void. Upon entry, all objects are transported to an alternate area that does not correspond to any place on earth (hereafter called SCP-4440-1). Within this area, electronic video equipment only returns static. Within SCP-4440-1, the trapdoor is not visible, nor can whatever enters through it return via the same door. This location is densely packed with Picea sitchensis (Sitka spruce), all of which are completely devoid of chlorophyll, causing a stark white color in the leaves. The dirt in SCP-4440-1 is completely lacking any bacteria, actinomycetes, fungi, algae and protozoa. Despite this, new plants will still appear from the soil, and be able to grow to maturity. Flora is abundant, and is analogous with flora typically found in the Pacific Northwest. All flora are consistent with the Picea sitchensis, all being devoid of any chlorophyll. All flora still perform cellular respiration, though the process by which it's done is still being researched.
The sun in SCP-4440-1 is
