I work at a bulk storage facility about 20 miles out of New Orleans. I make deliveries between there and the city and usually during the day shift. But last night they were low on drivers and offered me overtime pay if I took a truck out to Lakefront Airport. I said yes. I mean who would turn down extra money. It’s around half past nine when I start the engine for the fourteen yard dump truck I always drive. The gps says it’s 30 minutes away. That’s amount an hour and a half out there, plus or minus any traffic while driving along interstate 10. I get there at ten with no insistent. I ask were to deliver the gravel and I’m ushered to a UPS 747. They have me pour in on a tarp. So I’m on my way back. First sign of trouble was a car crash blocking Downman Rd to I-10, so I continue on Lakeshore Dr. After 4 miles I turn left onto Wisner Blvd. nothing else strange happens till I cross City Park Avenue.

I sitting at a red light when I first see him. He’s where a brown hood and carrying an axe. It’s just me at the light and I feel like he’s watching me. The light turns green and I quickly speed past. Next I see him stand outside of my dentist office on Orleans Avenue. I see again on Bienville Avenue, then Canal St, then Banks St. I’m sitting at a light on the corner of Carrollton Avenue and Ulloa St and he is there. He walks towards the truck, axe in hand I’m sweating like a dog. Light turn green just as he gets to the car door. I slam on the gas. There is a car crash blocking US 61 so I continue till Oak St. I don’t see him the entire way which calms me.

I turn onto Oak and its nearly midnight. I’m almost out of gas so I turn into a gas station on the corner of Oak and Cambronne. There is a build board on the other side of Cambronne advertising tour of the New Orleans Axeman sites. I begin to believe this is just a prank being pulled by some tour guides. I finish filling gas and continue onto state route 611. I don’t see him again until I pass under US 90. He’s standing there with that same damn axe. I drive as fast as I can to the police station across the street from Spicy Crust Pizzeria. That’s where I’ve stayed for the for the past few hours.

Anyone have any idea what this thing is? I’m scared crazy by it.

I’m sure it’s either you drove along the same route as that tour or someone is trolling you. It may be that when you when to that gas station you got off the tour route and then just happened to get back on it.

8327 Oak Street. It’s on the east corner of Oak Street and Cambronne Street.

I found a list of known New Orleans Axeman killings and that gas station is one of them. The last murder was on Ulloa St one block from Carrollton Ave which you also passed. After this attack he was never seen again. It’s just a theory but you could have stumbled upon a copycat.

I live on the other side of New Orleans from you. I’m gonna drive to each of these sites.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I.. how do say this.. I work at clothing store on the back side of Harahan police station.. my camera caught a truck driver killed by a hooded figure carrying an axe. It was just after jazzonthemoon sent this last message. Forensics took his body inside. I copied the videotapes and gave one to the police. Below is the video. It is gory and I suggest only watching it you are comfortable with it.
