Item #: SCP-4XXX
Item Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures:
All instances of entrances to SCP-4XXX are to be monitored and guarded by an on-site patrol. All instances of SCP-4XXX entrances within Foundation facilities are to be under armed guard, and all personnel wishing to use SCP-4XXX must have proper authorization. Under no circumstances are any currently active Foundation allowed to consume any instances of SCP-4XXX-B within SCP-4XXX.
All Personnel within SCP-4XXX are to avoid making any aggressive actions towards any instances of SCP-4XXX-A. All personnel must not make contact with any part of the core of SCP-4XXX, and doing so is considered its own punishment. Should the core of SCP-4XXX be damaged, all entrances to SCP-4XXX must be sealed immediately with no regard to anyone within SCP-4XXX.
Description:
SCP-4XXX is an extra dimensional space located outside of standard reality. SCP-4XXX can be accessed through numerous fixed points, usually in the form of a cave, a circle of living and rooted plant life, and arch-like plant structures. Attempts to block or seal the entrances result in the entrance collapsing and relocating within the general vicinity.
Whenever a sapient observer crosses the entrance, they will be instantly transported to the interior of SCP-4XXX. The interior of SCP-4XXX is a heavily wooded area, with a single large arboreal specimen spanning the entirety of the upper reaches of SCP-4XXX. Some of the branches of the tree reach down to the base floor of SCP-4XXX, and produce an anomalous fruit, classified as SCP-4XXX-B. (For more information, see Addendum SCP-4XXX-B Test Results)
Multiple instances of animals reside within SCP-4XXX, classified as SCP-4XXX-A. All instances of SCP-4XXX-A travel in pairs or groups, typically in monogamous and poly amorous animals that mate for life. All attempts to capture instances of SCP-4XXX-A have been met with failure, as all instances display high intelligence and have yet to fall for a trap any other member of their species would easily fall for.
When navigating SCP-4XXX, regardless of speed or location, the subject will traverse a wooded area for as long as they desire, and if they move with a location within SCP-4XXX in mind, they will find that location with no regard to how far they've traveled within SCP-4XXX.
At the center of SCP-4XXX is the base of the primary arboreal specimen, growing out of an industrial style house, similar in style to houses around 18██, in the █████ ██████ Region of the United States. The house does not adhere to the same unstable geometry of the larger interior of SCP-4XXX. At the center of the house, the trunk of the central arboreal specimen is a central opening, containing a single pool of water and a flower resembling a juvenile Nelumbo nucifera. All attempts to remove the specimen have met with the immediate animation of the arboreal entity, where the entity will then kill anyone attempting to remove the flower. There seems to be no limit to the ability for the entity to defend itself, in one instance creating a branch that destroyed an ██ ███████ Tank.
Several documents within SCP-4XXX's core, mainly in the form of dated journals from the central house, have since been recovered, and have been recorded below in Addendum SCP-4XXX-1.
