ITEM #: SCP-5104 "The Splitter1"
OBJECT CLASS: EUCLID
SPECIAL CONTAINMENT PROCEDURES:
SCP-5104 is to be kept in a 10m x 10m x 10m padded cell. This is to ensure the physical wellbeing of SCP-5104, as when injured, SCP-5104 could attack D-Class cleaning it’s cell. Cell containment must be waterproof as a result of SCP-5104 excessive mental distress. D-Class with schizophrenic symptoms or experiences are to clean SCP-5104’s cell on a weekly basis to guarantee SCP-5104’s "tears" don’t flood the cell. At least two D-Class are to be in the cell at a time as a result of SCP-5104’s physical attachment to those with schizophrenic symptoms. All limbs attached to SCP-5104 are to be carefully handled.
DESCRIPTION:
SCP-5104 is a sentient, 1m x .5m x 1m, slightly humanoid creature. It’s defining features include large, multicolored eyes covering its body. Each eye has proven to be detached from SCP-5104 in the sense that each eye functions differently than the other. The only exception to this is when SCP-5104 encounters any personnel devoid of schizophrenic symptoms or experiences. It is observed that each eye focuses on the personnel, appropriately labeled as SCP-5104-#, and each eye contracts to stare at SCP-5104-#. It is then observed that SCP-5104-# appears to have extreme mental distress. Symptoms and reactions to encounters with SCP-5104 vary, ranging from passing out in a matter of seconds, to becoming paralyed and completely still.
SCP-5104 has proven to be extremely hostile, even to those with schizophrenic symptoms, when missing limb attachments. It is observed that when missing a limb, such as a finger, SCP-5104 engages in mental combat with anyone entering its cell. It is noted that the mental combat appears to be much more extreme than when SCP-5104 is docile and encounters a non-schizophrenic person. When personnel encounter SCP-5104 in this state, SCP-5104 will begin the psychological combat until SCP-5104-# has lost consciousness. Afterwards, SCP-5104 will take the correlating limb and attach it to its body. SCP-5104 taking the eye, or eyes of the victim is not uncommon. SCP-5104 has sometimes been observed eating it’s victim. This is abnormal, as it does not have a mouth; rather, it relies on switching its main eyeball for a worm-like mouth, which can stretch up to half its body length. It has circular teeth, which can lay flat against the mouth similar to python fangs. If or when SCP-5104 is deprived of variations of it’s missing limbs for too long, it is observed that SCP-5104 will begin to produce sounds similar to screams. While it is unknown how it does so, the sounds cause personnel within a 30 meter radius to experience "ear ringing," similar to the symptoms of those with tinnitus. The effects usually wear off after ten minutes after the screams, although SCP-5104 has been recorded to scream for hours at a time, lasting twenty-four hours at its peak. Personnel with schizophrenia, however, were recorded to be less affected by the screams, proving SCP-5104 prefers limbs from those not affected with schizophrenic symptoms.
As seen in recorded experimental footage, SCP-5104 had been proven to become extremely protective and affectionate to those with history of schizophrenia or symptoms of it. This has even gone as far as SCP-5104 refusing to let certain personnel leave. While SCP-5104 may seem to have no positive effect on those that encounter it, personnel with active schizophrenic or serotonin-imbalance related diseases have shown massive medical improvement on their condition after meeting SCP-5104. Each encounter with SCP-5104 seems to "boost" this effect. This ability could provide personnel with schizophrenia the ability to also boost their own work progress and experimentation progress.

LOG SCP-5104-1
INTERVIEWEE: D-######
INTERVIEWER: Dr. #####
NOTES: D-###### entered SCP-5104’s cell on ##/##/####. SCP-5104 docile. All limbs present. D-###### currently experiencing schizophrenic symptoms.
Dr. #####: (to D-######) What happened when you were in SCP-5104’s cell?
D-######: He- no, it… it hugged me.
Dr. #####: Elaborate.
D-######: Like, it went up to me, crying and everything, and just rubbed all over me like a sad puppy or something.
Dr. #####: Did it talk to you?
D-######: I wouldn’t call it talking… more like… it went into my mind and thought, and I could hear it’s thoughts? It’s complicated.
Dr. #####: What did it say? What did it sound like?
D-######: It had a lot of voices… of women, children, men… all just smushed together, each one trying to talk at the same time. It was disturbing to say the least. As for what it said, it just kind of sobbed in my head. It said over and over that it was sorry, and… I asked why. It didn’t listen and just kept sobbing.
Dr. #####: Was it crying? Not in your head, I mean.
D-######: Yeah. As it apologized for god knows what it was just crying these sticky black tears. When I touched them the tears stung me a little, like I was covered in a bunch of papercuts and was touching hand sanitizer.
Dr. #####: How did SCP-5104 react when you touched it’s tears?
D-######: The engravings on it started oozing this black stuff that looked just like its tears. It inched away from me a little and started sobbing, still screaming that it was sorry.
Dr. #####: Did you touch the… what would you call it, blood?
D-######: Hell no. Why would I?
Dr. #####: Do you know why it was apologizing?
D-######: It told me after it backed away that it was their fault for making me "see things."
Dr. #####: So… do you think SCP-5104 was apologizing for your schizophrenic symptoms?
D-######: Probably. Don’t know what else it would be apologizing for. Hell, I’d believe it if it said it was sorry for making me come here. This place is a fucking nightmare.
Dr. #####: Noted. We are done for today. Thank you, D-######.
END NOTES: D-###### refused to take his schizophrenic medicine after the encounter, claiming he "felt better." Symptoms of schizophrenic episodes have seemed to decrease.
