Special Containment Procedures: Item SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a locked soundproof container at all times. When personnel enter SCP-XXXX’s container, no fewer than two may enter at any time and the door is to be re-locked behind them. The container should be kept under 24 hour surveillance. Surveillance system must be on view only. Personnel must be wearing soundproof earmuffs and must have someone on the camera watching the object.

Description: Moved to [REDACTED] in 1987. Origins are unknown. SCP-XXXX is a small flat disk with eight metallic legs and a red light for a head. When the object is within a 50 metre radius it will begin to release sounds that cause hallucinations, the hallucinations disappear once you leave a 100 metre radius of the item. Object attacks with hallucinations causing the victim to blackout while the object kills the victim, how the object kills the victim is unknown.

Personnel report seeing the object tapping at the walls of the container. This is considered normal and any change in this behavior should be reported to the acting HMCL supervisor on duty. Only level 2 (restricted) personnel have access to view the object and enter the container.

Personnel Notes: All personnel that come into contact with the item must go through decontamination and be scanned for viruses. Personnel must be within 5 metres of the item when inside the container. Personnel must wear full hazmat suits and wear head protection.

Capture: The item must be captured in a small metal box and must be kept that way for 48 hours. The object cannot produce multiple hallucinations at a time and cannot move while making sounds, however the object knows when the victim can’t hear it’s sounds. The item lives in highly populated areas and is known to cause many deaths, but this information has not been given to the public.
