CLASSIFIED
This documentation is restricted to all foundation personnel who have not been assigned the Glyphscratcher Badge. Violators will be persecuted and executed by a Keter-class SCP immediately.
Item #: SCP - 4351
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP - 4351 is currently located at Site-81, Sector 11. 4351 must be contained in Cell ███ (Height: 17m., Dimensions: 40x30 m.) at daylight hours for research, containment, and maintenance. This cell is available for close contact, courtesy of an emergency electromagnet, in case of fleshly exposure with the specimen. During this time Protocol 3 will be deployed at twelve-hundred hours. During the nighttime hours 4351 must be escorted through Corridor █ to Meadow █. Contact with the specimen is strictly prohibited aside from dire emergencies. Continuous observation is required. Protocols 5 and 6 must be carried out directly after 4351's return to Cell ███. If winds are 102 kilometers per hour or faster, then 4351 must not enter Meadow █.
Description: SCP - 4351 is a sentient American radio tower that is 15.2 meters tall with an IQ of 128. This specimen can walk with its tripodal legs, sauntering the land at night. In the daytime it becomes semi-dormant wherever it stands, absorbing any type of free- flying electrical power in the atmosphere.
4351 must not come into contact with any form of flesh. If this occurs 4351 will instinctively lose its senses and launch into a fury; violently crushing and stomping on everything in its course; emitting a loud, shrill radio signal that will paralyze, disorient, and/or black out anything within 1.1 kilometers. In many extreme episodes, the tower damages itself. If the specimen is enraged while inside its appointed daytime cell, an electromagnet has to be activated. 4351 will be pulled against the magnet and will not be able to move until it reposes, and then it will be unbound again to preserve a neutral state. Despite extensive, secure analysis since the year 20██, the Foundation is undisclosed regarding the reason of this behavior. However, it has been discovered that 4351 does this by pure instinct, not by choice.
If 4351 is damaged or a part of its body is removed, that part will entirely regenerate within 65 days. This is another attribute that the Foundation has yet to verify, as experiments require harming the specimen, which is at odds with 4351's strict Glyphscratcher preservation order.
4351 can not only tune in to different radio signals, but can send its own transmission as its solitary method of communication. However, it was not before the year 20██ when these signals were ultimately decrypted. Despite its effectiveness the Foundation has no conclusion as to why it can accomplish this, as continuous searching has revealed that 4351 is the only being of its kind. Therefore, it has no need to have the ability to communicate with these intricate signals.
Despite its savage reaction when touched by biological flesh, 4351 is possibly an exceedingly lonely creature. This is speculated because of its existence as the sole individual of its species. Because of a minimal display of emotion, this aspect is not verifiable. Protocol 3 is a system where three or more D-Class personnel are to interact with the tower, simply to offer it fellowship and retain it from succumbing to depression. This protocol has a 12% danger status, as the tower will remain passive considering no flesh touches it.
With fast enough windspeed, 4351 will be pushed over onto the ground and requires the assistance of Foundation personnel to stand once more. Consequently, 4351 is hysterical about tempests.
4351 possesses an unusual trait that when faced with a tree taller than itself, it will strive to become taller than that tree, utilizing nearby boulders or other elevated objects to assist upheaving its tip higher than the tree's summit. This is uncharacteristic of 4351's normal behavior, as it generally does not exhibit any competitive traits. The tower will attempt this for several hours with perseverance. The most extreme occurrence was when it encountered a sequoia tree and it endured for eight days until the tower surrendered.
4351 must absorb 657 kilowatt hours in total every month to retain life. If the tower is depleted of electrical power, it will cease movement as if slumbering until it can absorb adequate energy to move again. If the tower continues lacking energy for an entire month, there is an 88% probability that 4351 will perish.
Addendum: As one of the Glyphscratcher SCPs, 4351 will inscribe a special symbol onto any surface possible once every new moon. During the process of drawing the glyph, it will not respond to anything in its vicinity, even in lethal circumstances. The symbol is always the same, but there is currently no revelation as to why this monthly scenario occurs. An action called Protocol 11 is performed every new moon in which a large 5.2 x 5.2 meter box of sand is inserted into the glyphscratcher's chamber. The specimen will be directed to draw its glyph in the sand by several Foundation personnel. This is to ensure that no harm comes to the SCP when it draws its glyph, as there are currently over 30 casualties in the past when the glyphscratcher would hurt itself or others in an attempt to write the glyph.
Dr. Skipper Skystone, head of the Glyphscratcher research cadre at Site-81, reports the third incident with SCP - 4351, recorded in 10/13/██.
[BEGIN LOG]
Dr. Skystone: (With heavy crashing and loud screams in the background) I- I barely managed to get this tape working! It was the closest thing to me; this is an emergency log by Dr. Skipper Skystone! SCP-4351 is going mad again! I can see it through the observation window! (Pants) It's… oh my go- it's killing everyone! With its… feet?! I don't know what you'd call it; it's smashing the personnel! I don't- (high- pitched noise occurs) Augh! What… is that!? Morgane?!
Mr. Morgane: It's the distress frequency we informed you about, doctor! It's… (blacks out with a thud on the floor)
Dr. Skystone: Morgane? Mr. Morgane! (huffs) Thi- This is a valuable opportunity for the Foundation to receive… some… recorded- information! I can't… it's… too… (fades to static as she collapses)
