Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be guarded by four level-2 personnel at all times, posted at a small-scale station. They must each be equipped with standard handguns and class-A amnestics. Back-mounted chemical applicators of classified kill agent 16B must be stocked to be applied weekly along an inner perimeter to prevent intrusion by other mammalian animal life. The security personnel are to keep civilians out of the premises of SCP-XXXX and neutralise any developing instances of SCP-XXXX-1 on-site. MTF-Tau-41 "Zero Vector" is to be reachable at all times in case of a containment breach. If any instances of SCP-XXXX-1 escape containment, MTF-Tau-41, specialising in infectious memetic phenomena will be deployed. If MTF-Tau-41 is unable to neutralise all SCP-XXXX-1 instances within 24 hours post-breach, MTF-Psi-10 "Maslow's Motivators" should be contacted in a joint tracking and containment operation and areas with an infection risk potential are to be monitored until the breach is contained.
Description:
SCP-XXXX is a small area containing a segment of a nearby stream. It is located at [REDACTED][Yellowstone River], Montana. The area is permanently shrouded in low-lying pockets of mist, and the sky viewed from inside the premises of SCP-XXXX appears clouded, regardless of external weather patterns. If any mammal enters the waters of the stream within SCP-XXXX, it will immediately begin a transformation into an instance of SCP-XXXX-1.[See Addendum 1] The transformation process takes between approximately 30 seconds and 5 minutes. The reason for this time variance is as-yet-unknown. SCP-XXXX-1 instances are uniformly black in colour, generally resemble the shape of the mammal that entered the water and possess claws similar to those of crabs, which are of varying length and thickness.[See Image Above] Faces are absent in instances of SCP-XXXX-1.
