SCP-XXXX "Roomful of Grenades"
Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a closed concrete chamber approximately 200 meters underground. The walls and entrances of the chamber must be tested yearly to determine their ability to withstand multiple high-power blasts. Entry and exit of the chamber must be approved by Level 4 or higher authorized personnel.
All access points to the chamber must be through blast resistant airlocks. Under no circumstances must both doors of these airlocks be opened simultaneously. Observation of the chamber must be done through CCTV. No windows or other openings to this chamber are to be present, no matter how reinforced.
The door and window of SCP-XXXX is to be kept closed at all times except during testing. The interior of SCP-XXXX is to be kept clear of all open flames and other possible triggers to explosive reactions except during testing.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a single 13 x 11 bedroom, with a single door, and a single window. The interior is fully furnished with a number of amenities, including a minifridge, a desk, and a television. The interior of SCP-XXXX consistently remains in pristine condition, and both the room and the objects within are seemingly entirely impervious to all forms of damage. Attempts to dismantle SCP-XXXX have failed.
SCP-XXXX is consistently filled with approximately ████ live explosives at any given time, designated SCP-XXXX-2. Removal or detonation of an instance of SCP-XXXX-2 causes another to manifest. SCP-XXXX-2's designs are similar to grenades, but do not exactly match any known produced hand grenade model.
Instances of SCP-XXXX-2 are also impervious to damage, yet have incredibly sensitive detonation fuses, which last for about 5-6 seconds, beeping audibly as the fuse winds down.
SCP-XXXX-2 instances detonate with indeterminable force, however a single instance's detonation has proven enough to destroy a [REDACTED] heavily armored vehicle, and throw other instances with enough force to penetrate 3 meters of layered steel.
When SCP-XXXX's interior is connected to another room by any sort of opening (i.e. the door or window being opened), they begin sharing the same anomalous explosive generation, manifesting a single instance of SCP-XXXX-2 every five seconds until the connection is no longer present. These connected rooms are hereby designated as instances of SCP-XXXX-3. Any room or space that is then connected to an instance of SCP-XXXX-3 becomes an instance itself.
The number of SCP-XXXX-2 instances manifested in SCP-XXXX is not shared by all instances of SCP-XXXX-3 under its effect, seemingly growing exponentially with the size of the room. If an SCP-XXXX-2 instance is triggered in any way in SCP-XXXX or another instance of SCP-XXXX-3, the process speeds up to an SCP-XXXX-2 instance manifesting every [REDACTED], meaning that an uncontained detonation could lead to an XK-class end-of-the-world scenario.
SCP-XXXX was discovered in the town of ███████ after a police report was sent out regarding the complete destruction of a residence. SCP-XXXX was discovered with the door cracked open, laying intact in a pile of rubble. Class-A amnesiacs were administered to the population and SCP-XXXX came into Foundation custody. As of current, ███ instances of SCP-XXXX-2 have been recovered from around the world since the incident. It is unknown how many more remain.
