SCP ???, "The first question" iteration 2 (to be further develloped)
(please note that i heavily need to restructre and additionaly create extra parts, just wrote some stuff i liked down here so i don't forget anything :)
Object class: Keter (?)
Special containment procedures: (containment would consist of a multi pronged approach: firstly the foundation would create an algorithm taking into account internet posting habits, grades, local news, Hume level readings of a subjects vicinity. If a patient-zero is caught within the early stages, treatment is tried through regular means, such as therapy and anti-depressants. if the patient zero has already entered into the "cult creation stage" all material involving the cults god is to be contained and all cult members are to be terminated as soon as possible)
Description:
SCP-??? is a multi-staged, reality altering cognito-virus manifesting in subjects suffering an immense amount of trauma or loss related to either a single or multiple (devastating) life events which can be both anomalous or non-anomalous in nature. SCP-??? consists of five stages of development within a subject, throughout which multiple reality altering events will occur. Should stage 5 ever be reached within a subject, it could present (a potential XK-class end of the world scenario/ Ω-class deity manifestation event). However, if SCP-??? is detected within the first stage of its development, treatment is possible through the use of anti-depressants and consistent application of a specialised variant of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) under the guidance a specialised psychiatrist.
SCP-??? stage 1 A.K.A. the "Obsession" phase is characterised by a feeling of existential dread accompanied by feelings of emptyness, depression, severe anxiety, panic attack. These symptoms will most often be misdiagnosed as either Post Traumatic Stress Disorder or Obsessive Compulsive Disorder focused on the theme of existentialism. What makes SCP-??? stage 1 different from traditional forms of OCD or PTSD is that it is accompanied by auditory and visual hallucinations of the question "Who is God?". This question is also the major obsessive theme that will manifest as intrusive thoughts entering the mind when exposed to certain stimuli.
random scribbles
Subjects affected with SCP-??? will rapidly begin to develop symptoms related to PTSD and depression and will quickly enter stage one of the infection. If untreated, subjects mental state will quickly begin to deteriorate
The cognito-virus can most easily be described as the unhealthy obsession with existentialism and questions about the nature of existence presenting itself in variations of the question "Who is God", which interviewed subjects have consistently called "The first question".
SCP XXX, The Reptilian brain
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: Subjects affected by SCP-XXX, henceforth designated as SCP-XXX-AX, must be contained in standard humanoid containment cells at site XX. These containment cells must all beequipped with a PXTN-52 relief pod which, through a special system of tubes, must be connected to a large container of propofol. This container must be refilled biweekly, and any late profopol shipments must be reported as soon as possible.
SCP-XXX-A instances must be fed 3 times per day, and be administered approximately 40-100 mg of paroxetine every 24 hours, during lunch. Any requests made by SCP-XXX-A instances must be reviewed and, if approved, be supplied within the week.
Every month, SCP-XXX-A instances must be prepared for transportation to a heavily monitored operation unit, staffed by 6 nurses, 1 containment specialist, 2 guards and 2 neurosurgeons. Procedure XXX-K must then be applied followed by a mandatory interview and assessment session.
description: SCP-XXX is an anomalous cognitoplague affecting the amygdala and cerebellum of affected subjects, anomalously able to change its composition after spreading from one subject to another. Due to this, SCP-XXX does not resemble any current known type of plague or disease of any kind. The closest description that can be given of SCP-XXX, is that it is a Virus-Prion hybrid.
Infection of SCP-XXX comprises multiple stages of infection, namely:
stage 0: Begins immediately after infection. SCP-XXX-A subjects will feel a slight headache and fatigue. Lasts for 48 hours.
Stage 1: Upon the end of stage 0, subjects will progress towards stage 2 where extreme feelings of anxiety, depression and paranoia will begin to manifest. Subject will begin having difficulties sleeping, which results in worsening already present symptoms.
