SCP-7785 is a sentient organism that masks itself as human veins, arteries, or capillaries. It is a parasite that feeds off of the nutrients in the blood of humans and pigs. The SCP enters the body through ingestion of parasite or through skin to skin contact with the parasite's eggs. The anomaly can grow up to half the size and length of the average male's circulatory system. Symptoms of infected can be seen up to 3 days after infection. It is very similar to caterpillars, in the sense that the young can consume a lot of nutrients in a short time-span. SCP-7785 has been documented to have been in existence for many decades and centuries, being reported as a "vampire" when bodies turned up with no blood inside of them. However, this SCP also consumes the veins themselves. SCP is only to be handled when wearing 3-4 pairs of rubber gloves, and no open skin. Hazmat suits are ideal. 3 days after initial infection, patients can expect to see signs of anemia, internal bleeding, paranoia, sweating, shortness of breath, and cold/clammy skin. Experiments show that the full grown specimen can move at a fast pace for a short amount of time, and dies soon after. The specimen can last up to 20 minutes without a human/pig host at it's adult stage. The eggs work similarly to chicken or duck eggs. They need to be incubated at an average temperature of 99 degrees Fahrenheit. Once hatched, the worm stage takes place. The worms will consume blood at a fast pace, often digging into muscles as well. If this happens, a patient may expect to also feel sore muscles and, in extreme cases, paralysis. The worms also hatch in groups of 50 or more, with 3 main egg sacs coming out of the main parasite. Only 3 to 4 of the offspring parasites live due to intense competition for resources, but the highest recorded number of living offspring is 10. The specimen must be contained in a steel room no less than 5 layers thick. It must be fed pig blood twice a day in it's adult stage, and thrice a day in it's worm stage. No more than 3 adults should be kept in the containment area at the same time, as they could tangle, mass reproduce, or eat each other. They should only be moved by Class-D levels and up, and should be restrained before dissection or experimentation outside of containment. The specimen seems to only live in upper class neighborhoods or swine farms. As recorded, all known instances of SCP-7785 are contained and managed accordingly. No more than 6 adults are to be left alive for safety of the agents. It is possible to save people infected with SCP-7785 if you catch the worm by the 1st or 2nd day of infection. Medication can be dispersed with capabilities of poisoning the parasite. Once the symptoms hit, survival rates hit 0.0125%. Only two people have been saved after experiencing symptoms (████ █████████ and ██████ █████) and were promptly given amnesiacs after the procedure. When preforming an autopsy on recent victims of SCP-7785, doctors can expect to see any of the following:
- No Blood
- Missing Segments of Veins
- Veins are tangled up
- Small bumps lining parts of muscles closest to veins
- Veins are brittle
- Veins are writhing around
If veins are missing, or if there are small bumps on the muscles, seek help immediately for life saving procedures. If the veins are writhing around, immediately put on gloves and seek medication.
