Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be held within a 4 meter x 4 meter x 4 meter containment cell. No technology created after the early 1900s or firearms of any time period are to be left

Description: SCP-XXX is a mechanical construct standing at 3.3 m, weighing 2.5 MT. The subject is an octoped with unguligrade locomotion, while these limbs appear to be attached to an internal system that should only allow for simple forwards and backwards motion, the subject is capable of a range of motion allowing it fluent and agile movement. Due to the functionally impossible motions made by SCP-XXXX, many internal structures experience large amounts of strain and degradation, however, this does not seem to hinder the subject's movements in anyway.

Prior to incident XXXX-02 (see addendum 4973-02) SCP-XXXX was composed of several devices resembling objects created during the early 19th century, of which is listed below.

* A chassis similar in design to a 1915 Rolls-Royce, serving as the subject's torso.
* A device resembling a modified 1912 Seneca Folding Roll Film Camera, serving as an ocular
sensory device at the end of the subject's "neck".
* A speaker system embedded into the subject's torso beneath the "neck" resembling a 1910
Gaumont Chronophone System, which the subject uses for vocal communication.

How the subject receives sound is unknown.

SCP-XXXX's most noteworthy anomalous property would be it's ability to replicate any technology or material it's observed for over 30 seconds. while the subject has demonstrated the ability to replicate technology of any complexity, it has shown preference to whatever it views as the most advanced, the subject will be able to reproduce whatever devices it possesses however many times it finds suitable with no currently known limit.

The replication process can take anywhere between 2 hours to 48 hours and can be hindered if surrounding temperatures are kept at below freezing temperatures. how the subject gains the materials to replicate the device, the process it undergoes to produce the replicated devices, or it's limits regarding what it can replicate is currently unknown.

on 20██/██/██ in █████ Pennsylvania, a police raid was conducted on the home of Mr. ████, a prominent historian of █████ █████ over unspecified charges. where, during the search of the individual's basement, the discovery of SCP-XXXX was made. to which Foundation personnel were contacted and the subject was subsequently contained with little resistance.
Attempts to locate Mr. ████ have yielded no results.

Addendum XXXX-01: on 20██/██/██ SCP-XXXX was found to be capable of speech, and an interview with the subject was conducted, the following is an audio transcript of the event.

Interviewed: SCP-XXXX

Interviewer: Dr. Williams

Foreword: Due to the age of 4973's vocal systems at the time of interviewing, some of it's
speech is left unintelligible

<Begin Log>

SCP-XXXX: Would you be so kind as to tell me who you might be?

Dr. Williams: I would be Dr. Williams, today i'll be wanting to learn a bit about you

SCP-XXXX: By that title i assume you would be a man of science?

Dr. Williams: Correct, now, could you tell me a little about Mr. ████?

SCP-XXXX: [Unintelligible] however, i do believe he had some relation to Mr. ███████

Dr. Williams: Who is this Mr. ███████?

SCP-XXXX: Why, one of the greatest minds of this generation! How could a man of science such as yourself not know of someone of such accomplishments as him?

Dr. Williams: I suppose he may be outside of my range of expertise. Do you recall what your purpose is?z

SCP-XXXX: What more than to demonstrate the wonders and innovation of mankind?

Dr. Williams: Could you elaborate on these "wonders" you refer to?

SCP-XXXX: What adorns me as we speak are the wonders i speak of! I am the culmination of the future and innovation of mankind!

Dr. Williams: Are you aware of what the current date is?

SCP-XXXX: The most recent i can recall would be 19██, it couldn't have been long since then however.

Dr. Williams: The current year is 20██, XXXX.

SCP-XXXX: (SCP-XXXX pauses) i see… i suppose i was holed up in there longer than i thought…

Dr. Williams: Do you remember why you were in Mr. ████'s basement?

SCP-XXXX: Mr. ███████ wanted to hide me from those who clearly could not grasp my purpose [Unintelligible] and i must say i thank him for that. I could not stand the gawking from shortsighted fools who could not see what marvels awaited man. Although while i feel the upheaval of my stay in that room was unnecessary, i must say i am thankful to be surrounded by others who can truly grasp the future of man.

Dr. Williams: Was your purpose simply to display the technologies of your time?

SCP-XXXX: I was made to display and demonstrate the wonders of what i now possess and what comes in the future! What more could i need offer?

Dr. Williams: I see, Thank you for your cooperation, XXXX, we'll now see you back to your cell.
<End Log>

Closing Statement: SCP-XXXX was escorted back to it's containment cell with no complications.

Addendum XXXX-02: The following is an incident report regarding a red level containment breach, leading to the breach of several other SCP entities, including SCP-XXXX, leading to the first first observation of the subjects primary anomalous properties.

INCIDENT REPORT

INCIDENT #: XXXX-02
DATE OF OCCURRENCE: 20██/██/██

Following a containment breach of SCP-████, several containment cells were breached, including SCP-XXXX. during which the subject quickly made it's way through the site without attempting escape.

As MTF units were dispatched to re-contain SCP-████, SCP-XXXX could be found to be closely observing several foundation items. Once SCP-████ was re-contained, SCP-XXXX was found to now possess multiple new foundation objects, when site personnel attempted to re-contain SCP-XXXX, the subject resisted, requesting to "learn more of this era's wonders." when requests were denied, SCP-XXXX continued to avoid re-containment, to which MTF units were called in to apprehend the subject.

Once MTF personnel reached SCP-XXXX, they were met with heavy gun fire from the subject. resulting in retaliation fire from MTF personnel leading to the temporary incapacitation of the subject. 2 personnel were injured in the incident, no casualties were reported.

The following are the items found on SCP-XXXX.

  • 1 Foundation security camera, now replacing the subject's previous ocular device.
  • 3 MTF firearms along the subject's front.
  • 1 Foundation intercom system, now replacing the subject's previous vocal system.

No other foundation items have been found in possession of the subject. How the subject obtained and installed the items is currently under investigation.

Addendum XXXX-03:* Following the incident, an interview with SCP-XXXX was conducted to learn how the subject incorporated the devices into it's body.

Interviewed: SCP-XXXX

Interviewer: Dr. Williams

Foreword:Due to the subject's recent acquisition of MTF firearms the interview will be conducted with Dr. Williams behind reinforced bullet proof glass.
