Photo of SCP-4463 recovered from Incident 4463-A. Other photos taken of the object show a similar "washed-out" effect, but photos of photos do not.

Item #: SCP-4463

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4463 is currently stored in a passcode-locked box on Site-88. Knowledge of the passcode is restricted to Level-3 personnel. Sound-dampening headsets capable of blocking at least 100 dB are to be kept available to site staff to be used as necessary. It is highly recommended that individuals with noise protection take caution when navigating around a subject or subjects affected by SCP-4463.

Description: SCP-4463 is a portable speaker system in poor shape with notable rusting on the exterior. The manufacturer and serial number are no longer legible, but the item closely resembles the ███ █████ series which ran from 1983 to 1992. Despite its state of neglect, SCP-4463 has only lost functionality in its FM radio playback.

Most cassette playback will produce no anomalous effect, but music that was originally released between January 1, 1980 and December 31, 1999 will be slowed down significantly with frequent skipping and repeating. Recordings of this music produce no effects; subjects must either hear the music directly from SCP-4463's speakers or another speaker connected to SCP-4463's audio-output port.

Music showing the anomalous effect will cause all sentient organisms with hearing capabilities1 to repeat the first 10 seconds of actions taken at the beginning of exposure. Subjects will be instantaneously transported to their respective starting location with all biological systems reset, meaning all physical needs of the subject could effectively be satiated forever if consistently exposed to anomalous music.

SCP-4463 is available on special request for medical applications to hold patients in stasis while researching or preparing further treatment.
