Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Keter

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be surrounded by secure fencing and guards at all times. Any plant life outside of the fence to a distance of one hundred (100) meters should be immediately noted and incinerated. Personnel are only allowed within SCP-XXXX with permission from head researcher Dr. Reyes. Exploration of SCP-XXXX is possible via remotely controlled drones and is the preferred method.
SCP-XXXX-1 specimen are to be contained in a climate-controlled, reinforced glass enclosure measuring ten (10) meters by fifteen (15) meters. The roof of the enclosure must be clear glass to allow sunlight in. At no point should the roof be covered for more than three days. The floor of the enclosure should be separated from any soil by at least one, fifteen (15) centimeter thick steel panel encased with cement made from no organic matter. Any plant life within thirty (30) meters outside of the enclosure must be immediately incinerated.
Within the enclosure, the floor must be covered by at least eight centimeters of fertile soil. The humidity should be kept around 50% and temperature should remain in the range of 20 to 25 degrees celsius. Approved plants are allowed to be introduced to the enclosure and must be carefully monitored. If there is any excess growth of any plant life within the enclosure the plant growing in excess shall be removed and no plants within its family are to be introduced into the enclosure again.
Weekly checks of the integrity of the enclosure are necessary. Any flaws in the glass must be recorded and repaired as quickly as possible. Any plant that grows along the walls of the enclosure must be removed.
At no point should any materials made from wood be within thirty (30) meters of SCP-XXXX-1.

Description: SCP-XXXX was first discovered on ██-██-20██, 5km north of ███████████, CA in the ████████ forest. It appears to be a phenomenon wherein forested areas begin to undertake rapid growth and expansion. The growth is unnatural in nature and seems to be caused by entities designated SCP-XXXX-1.
Within months of first occurring, SCP-XXXX began to overtake the nearby town of ███████████. Buildings were covered in vines while trees began sprouting through the asphalt of the roads. The Foundation took control of the town and surrounding area and quickly began taking action to cordon it off and prevent further growth. So far, the actions of burning any new plant growth within one hundred (100) meters of the fence has successfully contained SCP-XXXX expansion.
Buildings and roads within SCP-XXXX have experienced rapid deterioration. Recent exploration into SCP-XXXX through remotely controlled drones has shown deterioration roughly equivalent to fifty (50) to one hundred (100) years. Any human-cultivated plant life within SCP-XXXX appears to have spread considerably while growing significantly larger than the norm.
Plants that would be harvested for food produce a great quantity of high quality produce. Tests using seeds taken from these plants have been proposed to judge the viability of using them commerialy to assist alleviate hunger. Approval is pending tests of the effects of the produce on D-class.
Specimen of SCP-XXXX-1 appear as bipedal, ungulate humanoids standing approximately 2 to 4 meters with cervine hooves and antlers. The antlers begin at where eyes would be located on a human face and will grow leaves and flowers depending on the season. The entities are shaped entirely from wood with dissections showing no internal organs or bones. SCP-XXXX-1 specimen claim to see and hear through the flora surrounding them and their strength appears directly proportional to the amount of flora surrounding them. SCP-XXXX-1 specimen need no food, only healthy soil, water, and direct sunlight.
SCP-XXXX-1 specimen have shown an ability to control plant life in their area in a range of thirty (30) meters. They can encourage plant growth in levels that far exceed normal. Additionally they are able to create new growth from fragments of vines, wood, and leaves. One specimen has been observed creating a sapling from a single pencil dropped by a junior researcher. The sapling grew rapidly and when it was cut down within six hours, the rings indicated an age of over seventy (70) years. After this incident, no wood is allowed within the range of any SCP-XXXX-1 specimen.
To date, foundation agents have captured five (5) instances of SCP-XXXX-1. There appear to be more within the body of SCP-XXXX. Capturing SCP-XXXX-1 specimen has proven challenging as they are adept at camouflaging their bodies to blend in with the surrounding flora. Additionally, SCP-XXXX-1 specimen located within SCP-XXXX have incredible strength and speed. Ten (10) agents have been killed within SCP-XXXX by instances of SCP-XXXX-1. When taken outside of SCP-XXXX and isolated from large areas of plant growth, SCP-XXXX-1 specimen have strength roughly equivalent to an adult human in good health.
Bodies of those killed by SCP-XXXX-1 are designated as SCP-XXXX-2 and have displayed anomalous qualities. Upon death, saplings begin to grow from the corpse. None of these saplings appear to match any known tree species. Leaves of SCP-XXXX-2 trees can be any color, however they tend to align with the color of clothing that the corpse was wearing.
The wood of SCP-XXXX-2 trees appear to be around the same hardness as that of oak trees. The color of the wood tends to be silver, however specimen have been recorded as having white, black, and brown wood. This does not seem to be affected by the corpse like the leaves are. More investigation is needed to find the cause of the wood coloration.
The trees of SCP-XXXX-2 bear fruit that display anomalous qualities. The smell of the fruit of SCP-XXXX-2 draws humans in and induces an intense desire to taste the fruit. When consumed by a human, the fruit causes the body to rapidly break down. Early symptoms are similar to the flu with vomiting, high fever, body aches, and a sore throat. Within four hours the condition worsens as the victim begins urinating blood and losing eyesight. No one who has consumed the fruit has lasted more than twenty four (24) hours after consumption. After expiration, the corpse becomes the host of a new SCP-XXXX-2 tree.
