Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX resides within a climate-controlled, hermetically sealed biological containment unit in Site-104. The containment unit will measure exactly 3 km x 1 km x 100 m, reinforced with steel rebar. The sector will be monitored through video surveillance at all hours by MTF Omega-3 ("Zoo Keepers.") On-site researchers will need to ensure the facility closely mimics the climate, geography, and ecosystem of the Montanne Forests residing in eastern Madagascar. Personnel are to spend as little time as possible with SCP-XXXX to accommodate the needs of the population. All communication between researchers and SCP-XXX is to take place within the presence of an armed MTF agent with permission of level 3 personnel.
Description: SCP-XXX is a designation for an anomalous population of 300 highly sapient Indri indri. Each member of SCP-XXXX is to be referred to as SCP-XXXX-1. Each individual has an identifying serial number, beginning with SCP-XXXX-1-001 through SCP- XXXX-1-300. SCP-XXXX varies in weight and height but usually grow within the parameters of a head-and-body length of about 64–72 cm and an average mass residing between 6 to 9.5 kg. SCP-XXXX-1 generally possess a black and white coat and maintains an upright posture during locomotion. SCP-XXXX normally traverses through the canopy of the Adansoniagenus of trees, sprawling between villages suspended from the branches of the local flora. SCP-XXXX-1 is perfectly capable of understanding human language, and in fact have already developed a dialect of their own based upon their natural vocalizations. However they are biologically incapable of forming any human speech, as a result the entirety of SCP-XXXX has been taught American Sign Language for purposes of research.
This population of lemurs, (originally numbered at 25 with a male to female ratio of 2/3,) were first relocated from the Réserve Spéciale d’Anjanaharibe-Sud, north of the Mangoro River in 6/13/1993 as part of a conservation effort to preserve their rapidly diminishing population. Once the conservationists began to take note of SCP-XXXX's unusual characteristics, the Foundation intervened. Reservation staff were administered Class-C amnesiacs and the anomalous lemurs were removed to Site-104.
I. Indri typically do not live past one (1) year in captivity nor had any been successfully bred. However, when these specimens were taken into captivity, the population displayed drastically altered behavior after a period of 27 months. SCP-XXXX displayed an uncharacteristically longer individual lifespans and much more restrictive breeding practices.
The population quickly reorganized into a feudal society, closely resembling the Tokugawa Shogunate of Japan. There is a symbolic “king” or “emperor,” who rules over the other individuals, however most power is held by a secondary leader, the “shogun.” This figure has authority over every other individual including the emperor. This secondary leader then delegates power to 12 individuals who provide leadership to their respective "clans." Each clan has distinct physiological features and cultural
practices. So distinct, identification of which clan each specimen belongs to is relatively simple.

SCP-XXXX has built various complex suspended villages, some individual habitats weigh in at 2 metric tons. Each of these units is able to house a family of no more than three(3), as I. indri practices lifelong monogamy and do not raise more than one offspring at a time. These villages consist of anywhere from 5, reaching up to 25 interconnected complexes.
SCP-XXXX-1 communicates using very loud, shrill, distinctive songs. However when the songs produced by SCP-XXXX-1 are compared to the songs produced by other members of their species, they differ drastically. Foundation linguistic teams closely analyzed over a thousand different samples of the song and deciphered an exceedingly complex language. The most striking difference between the two songs is their structure. I. Indri songs are comparable to wails, whereas SCP-2639-1 produces vocalizations that consist of rapid staccatos, combined with extreme variations in pitch and duration. Special Containment Procedures: All individuals who are exposed to SCP-XXXX are to be monitored by personnel residing at Site-██, in ███████, VA. At least one Foundation Deep-cover agent is to be present as an executive in the local Blue Ridge Mountains Council of the Boy Scouts of America to monitor SCP-XXXX. Three (3) deep cover agents must be present on the Blue Ridge Scout Reservation as a ranger for each base camp to monitor any instances of SCP-XXXX-1 manifesting outside of the reservation. Should it be deemed necessary, mass distribution of Class-A amnestics have been authorized for treatment of SCP-XXXX's effects.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a Civil War-era iron forge located exactly at coordinates 36.976022 North, -80.681774 West. The forge presents an infohazard upon all who observe it. When viewed, subjects will begin to perceive an entity referred to as SCP-XXXX-1.

SCP-XXXX poses a threat due to the popularity of the site of manifestation: a collection of Boy Scout summer programs available to the public known as the Blue Ridge Scout Reservation. Approximately anywhere from 15-20,000 individuals visit between May and August every year. Around 7,500-10,000 fresh exposures take place each season.
SCP-XXXX lies just outside of Camp Powhatan, and also serves as one of Powhatan's main logos. Dr. S████ has hypothesized the specific location of SCP-XXXX serves to maximize the chance of exposure for incoming campers, as SCP-XXXX is placed along the main entrance to the camp. SCP-XXXX is also utilized as one of Camp Powhatan’s main logos in advertisements.
SCP-XXXX-1 for all intents and purposes appears to be a normal human being. To exposed individuals, SCP-XXXX-1 is a 19-year old, slightly obese, Caucasian male claiming to be named "Chris Puleo."
SCP-XXXX-1 manifests in Camp Powhatan as one of approximately 100 staff members. They stay for 8 weeks beginning in June and ending in the last week of July. All BRSR staff are affected by SCP-XXXX and are capable of maintaining contact with SCP-XXXX-1 outside of the camp season. Contact is maintained through social media, these specific files can be accessed by anyone if they chose to look for them. However only these profiles are all set to private, and only those who have been exposed to SCP-XXXX seem to be followers of SCP-XXXX-1.
When questioned, both staff and campers hold SCP-XXXX-1 in high regard, remarking on its amiable demeanor and ability to engage scouts under its care. SCP-XXXX-1 is specifically employed in the "Brown Sea Island" program; a week long course designed to teach fresh recruits everything they need to become boy scouts. So far it is unknown why SCP-XXXX-1 works in this program specifically.
Background:The Blue Ridge Scout Reservation is a 17,000 acre plot of land owned by the Blue Ridge Mountains Council of the Boy Scouts of America. The reservation is composed of 3 main "base camps" where the bulk of visitors stay over a duration of 7-9 days depending on which program they are attending, time of arrival, and time of departure.
SCP-XXXX's location is a site of great historical significance as it provided much of the iron needed to fuel the confederate machine early in the Civil War. It was at this time SCP-XXXX was first constructed, whether or not SCP-XXXX's effects manifested then or at a later date is unknown. On ██/██/2012, SCP-XXXX was purchased by foundation assets to ensure containment.
The base camps are known as Camp Powhatan, Camp Ottari and Claytor Lake Aquatics Base. SCP-XXXX-1 has been sighted at each of these locations, necessitating the need for three (3) total observers.
The BRMC operates about half a dozen other smaller "High Adventure" programs throughout the reservation, each with a different theme. SCP-XXXX-1 has yet to appear at any of these other programs on the reservation.
Investigation Log: MTF Eta-10 was dispatched to Powhatan undercover as sanitation workers to assist with containment of a Norovirus outbreak facilitated by the Foundation on ██/██/2012. During containment of said outbreak, Agent H████ discovered documentation concerning an experimental memetic agent under development by an unknown organization.
