Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX must be kept in a 5m x 5m sized room at Site ██ with a constant vacuum in the roof inhaling all oxygen. SCP-XXXX must be unplugged and distant from any power source, with the exception of the vacuum (See Reconnaissance Log 1-SCP-XXXX). SCP-XXXX-2 must be separated from SCP-XXXX at all times, except for times of refuelling, at which time a Class-D
Personnel in an air-tight suit must enter and refuel SCP-XXXX. Any cases of SCP-XXXX-3 must be inhaled by the vacuum. If SCP-XXXX-3 breaches, all personnel on site are required to lock themselves in a room with all entrances being air-tight, any MTF dispatching of SCP-XXXX-3 must be wearing air-tight suits with disposable oxygen tanks.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a standard, 5x10, fog-machine. X-Rays show that all inside mechanisms of SCP-XXXX seem to be exactly the same as a normal fog-machine, but the metal casing is made of an unidentifiable solid, research is being conducted (See Addendum-5-SCP-XXXX). When average fog-machine fluid is poured into SCP-XXXX, it operates the same way as a standard fog-machine. However, when SCP-XXXX-2 (fog-machine fluid) is poured into SCP-XXXX, it generates some sort of living gas organism (SCP-XXXX-3), that will enter any solid organisms body in sight (See Reconnaissance Log 1-SCP-XXXX), the result of which is death by asphyxiation.

Assignment: Gain information about the factory, and find out what these "Smoke Beasts" are and where they came from.

Team Lead: O1-1

Team Members: O1-1 (Fumus), O1-2 (Igni), O1-5 (Patriae) and O1-9 (Dissipatur)

[BEGIN LOG]

(A report had came in about "Smoke Beasts" coming from a factory in a small town in England, Northamptonshire, known as [DATA EXPUNGED], these "Smoke Beasts" had apparently been killing locals, coming out of their factory at 9:00 PM and retreating back to the aforementioned factory at !2:00 AM. The raid of the factory was conducted at 9:30 PM and MTF Omicron-1 were told to enter underground. The MTF members had been equipped with empty gas tanks leading to a small vacuum weapon, a small SIG Sauer P226 sidearm. a 'Type-3 Heavy Mole-Machine' and a 'Type-5 Airtight Suit' equipped with a headlamp and 'Type-3 Reconnaissance Outfit' worn underneath the suit.)

O1-1: Check your equipment, we're entering in 5.

*(Sounds of motion and scuffling are heard)*

O1-1: Ready?

O1-2, O1-5 and O1-9 (individually, over the course of 10 seconds): Ready.

(Sounds of earth-grinding is heard and clumps of earth fly past the camera as MTF Omicron-1 use the 'Mole-Machines' to enter. A minute later stone-breaking is heard)

O1-1: We've arrived on the first floor, no sign of any "Smoke Beasts" have been found. O1-2 and O1-9, scout the upper floor, me and O1-5 will continue down here.

(Soft footsteps echo throughout the large factory, at this point the video switches to the camera of O1-2¹

(Upper Floor)

(Video footage shows shadowed figures of desks, chairs, filing cabinets and computer monitors, barely illuminated by the moonlight)

O1-2: Turn on your headlamp and have a look towards these workstations. See if you can find anything referring to these "Smoke Beasts".

(O1-2 and O1-9 turn on their headlamps and start moving towards the workstations. O1-9 starts pondering through a stack of paperwork on a nearby desk, while O1-2 starts opening the filing cabinets.)

O1-9: Nothing but work reports about customer purchases and shipping for entertainment applications. You find anything over there?

O1-2: No, just more paperwork. Turn on one of those computers, see if you can find anything.

(Upon activating the computer and turning on the monitor, O1-9 is faced with a login screen for [REDACTED] UK. A message on the screen reads "Welcome, Mr. Simmers. Please enter your username and password.)

O1-9: Igni, see if you can find anything relating to a username and password for an employee going by the name of 'Mr. Simmers'.

(O1-2 starts searching through the cabinet labeled 'S', and stops soon after, pulling out a tan folder)

O1-2: Lets have a look here. Employee name, date of birth… ah, here.

(O1-2 Pulls out a small yellow post-it note from inside the tan folder and hands it to O1-9.)

O1-9: Thank you.

(O1-9 starts entering Mr. Simmons username and password into the computer, and is soon met with a home screen. In the bottom right corner, a logo of a gear, with writing in the middle, which reads 'Avery Ipsum²'. Writing under the gear states 'Apparatus in Supremo Spiritu erat Constitutus³)

(At this point, the camera footage switches over to the camera's used by O1-1 and O1-5)

(Ground Floor)

(O1-2 and O1-9 can be seen walking up the stairs leading to the upper floor. O1-1 and O1-5 point their headlamps in various directions. The ground floor seems to contain various manufacturing machines, each with the logo of Avery Ipsum printed on them.)

O1-1: Avery Ipsum? Patriae, you know anything about these guys?

O1-5: No, I don't think they were even mentioned in the dossier either. Did you see any logos on the side of the building?

O1-1: No, not even a mark of where the logo may have been.

O1-5: Hmm, strange. Maybe they were a disbanded company?

O1-1: With the reports of the anomalies coming out of here, I wouldn't put any money on it.

(O1-5 searches around the room with his headlamp, soon looking up at a room with a large window facing the machines, the window seemingly used to view the workers)

O1-5: I think the foreman's office is up there.

(O1-1 faces the foreman's office. A short flight of stairs, as well as an elevator, leads to the office's entrance. 01-5 and 01-2 begin their ascent up the stairs, soon reaching a locked door)

O1-5: Fumus, think you can break this lock?

O1-1: Sure, I'll give it a try.

(The camera footage switches back to O1-2's camera, facing the computer belonging to 'Mr. Simmons'. O1-9 is sitting down controlling the computer)

O1-9: Right, let's see…

(O1-9 navigates to the files stored in the computer's drive, soon arriving on to a saved E-Mail chain)

2. Avery seems to be a name, while Ipsum is latin for Engineering.

3. This is also Latin, and translates to 'The Ghost in the Machine'.
