Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: Due to the subtle nature of SCP-XXXX's anomolous effects, and the fact that instances of SCP-XXXX are to numerous to be reasonably contained, containment is almost entirely limited to the observation of SCP-XXXX instances among civilian populations outside of private residences. Any instances of SCP-XXXX contained by the foundation are to be kept within Site 19 and are allowed free roam of the facility under the supervison of at least one member of site staff. Should supervision be unavailable for any reason instances of SCP-XXXX are to be kept in a standard biological containment facility and overseen by SCP-XXXX project manager.

Description: SCP-XXXX is the collective term for a group of creatures of the Felis Catus or common house cat. Instances of SCP-XXXX do not behave differently from, and appear identical to, regular house cats. When directly looked at by any human (hereby refered to as "subject"), SCP-XXXX's anomolous properties will manifest, triggering a "cute agression" response in any human currently looking at and instance SCP-XXXX, which will usually cause affected subjects to approach instances of SCP-XXXX and pet them. While it is not currently known why instances of SCP-XXXX cause this mild psychological response, however it should be noted that the effect is lessened among subjects who either own dogs, or simply find them more preferable than cats. SCP-XXXX's anomalous effects seem to multiply when more than one instance of SCP-XXXX is within visual range of a subject, testing has revealed diminishing results with any more than three instances are present, hinting at a theoretical limit to the effect.

Addendum: Memo from Site 19 director Dr.██████ 26/08/1977
I fail to see how cats are considered anomalous in any way, regardless of how cute they are, however Dr.███████ has pointed out the effects SCP-XXXX is having on site moral multiple times. I have decided to keep SCP-XXXX's classification as an SCP for now, but that will be changing if they no longer become beneficial to Site 19.
