Item #: SCP-5158
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5158 is contained at Site ██ and is required to remain within a sealed steel environmental containment unit that is 10 meters x 10 meters x 5 meters. The environment inside the containment is required to remain below 0 degrees Celsius. Multiple redundant cooling mechanisms are in place but in an event of total power failure, the containment may be flooded with coolant in an attempt to pacify SCP-5158. Constant audio and visual observation are required. Personnel entering SCP-5158's containment must be accompanied by two unarmed security officers. SCP-5158 requires no sustenance. Routine weekly maintenance must be conducted to ensure the structural stability of containment. Direct eye contact and physical contact are not permitted with SCP-5158. Upon leaving containment, personnel must submit to a psychological exam.
Description: SCP-5158 is a humanoid resembling a young male with a crude metal mask covering its face. The mask seems to only have one eyehole however it is not wide enough to visibly see inside. The skin of SCP-5158 is a light pale color and the texture resembles that of tanned leather; remains damp as if it is constantly sweating despite the cold temperature. SCP-5158 has continually refused to clothe itself and even becomes aggressive towards personnel offering clothes.
SCP-5158 seems to instinctively turn to face away from any observers despite the metal mask concealing its face (further referred to as SCP-5158-1). Attempts to see SCP-5158's face have proven difficult with little success [See Experiments SCP-5158-01 through SCP-5158-04].
Discovery SCP-5158 was discovered South of ████████, ██████ after a forest fire ravaged the small town. A field agent reported observations of the town's survivors going missing and later found falling victim to violent attacks. SCP-5158 was hunted and successfully contained by MTF Epsilon-9. SCP-5158 was transported to Site ██. The remains were easily covered up as animal attacks that occurred during the forest fire. Class-B Amnestics were administered to first responders and remaining survivors.
Behavior SCP-5158 can be observed commonly pacing the room and sweating profusely. In rare cases, SCP-5158 is observed to stay in a statue-like trance for hours. This appears to occur when SCP-5158 looks up at the security cameras. During this "trance" SCP-5158's body temperature can be recorded to reach 100 degrees C, evaporating the sweat from its body. This is similar to the behavior recorded when SCP-5158 begins to act aggressively. The exact cause and consequences of this phenomenon are unknown. Personnel is advised not to interact with SCP-5158 during one of these "trances".
On a few accounts, SCP-5158 has been said to mumble to itself however when a conversation with SCP-5158 is attempted no response can be observed. It is unknown if SCP-5158 chooses to ignore commands or is unable to comprehend [See Addendum SCP-5158-01]. Further testing is required to determine SCP-5158's cognitive ability.
Any act of aggression towards SCP-5158 is met with equal aggression [See incident report SCP-5158-01]. Aggression directed to SCP-5158 of any degree is expected to result in lethal circumstances to the aggressor. The sight of weaponry of any kind is seen as a threat to SCP-5158 and it will become increasingly aggressive at an exponential rate.
Incident Report SCP-5158-01 During routine maintenance, Agent ████████ ██████ was accidentally allowed to enter containment without the removal of a holstered firearm. Once in the containment, SCP-5158's body temperature prompted aggression early enough to ensure the evacuation of one security officer and the maintenance staff. Agent ████████ ██████ attempted to draw his firearm despite strict orders not to. Agent ████████ ██████ proceeded to turn his firearm on himself and [REDACTED]. Agent ████████ ██████'s remains were recovered after SCP-5158 returned to a passive state.
Addendum SCP-5158-01: Dr. ███████ and security personnel entered SCP-5158's containment on ██/██/201█ at ███p.m. in an attempt to conduct an interview. Proper protocols were followed to ensure ideal conditions for SCP-5158. After several minutes of continuous attempts in multiple languages and methods of communication. Further interview attempts are suspended until more information is gathered of SCP-5158's nature.
Experiment SCP-5158-01: In an attempt to observe SCP-5158's true nature, Class-D personnel Jacob ████████, age ██ , and sentenced to life without parole, is tasked with attempting removal of SCP-5158-1. As he approached SCP-5158, the temperature of the room increased dramatically. The subject is commanded to continue the experiment. SCP-5158 is observed to cover its face and seems frightened by the subject but remains passive. The subject gets close enough to touch SCP-5158's left shoulder. As this occurs, the subject receives third-degree burns to his right hand. SCP-5158 jumps into a rage and proceeds to chase down the subject and [REDACTED]. The chamber is flooded with coolant to pacify SCP-5158 and the remains of Jacob ████████ are collected in containers for proper disposal.
Experiment SCP-5158-02: To test SCP-5158's response to non-human interaction, a primate is allowed into the containment. Several hours pass and neither SCP-5158 nor the subject seem to interact negatively. It is assumed non-human organisms are not considered a threat.
Experiment SCP-5158-03: Experiment is run to test how SCP-5158 reacts to autonomous aggression. A drone is tasked with entering the containment and removing SCP-5158-1. As the drone approaches SCP-5158, it covers its face but remains facing the drone and seems more curious than scared. Unlike with human interaction, the drone approaches SCP-5158 without a temperature increase. As the drone comes into contact with SCP-5158-1, the drone's arm quickly glows and liquifies before dropping to the ground. SCP-5158 is seen attempting to pull SCP-5158-1 off of its own face after this interaction. SCP-5158 does not appear to become aggressive to the drone despite the violent temperature change. It is now assumed SCP-5158-1 is sentient.
Experiment SCP-5158-04: To further research SCP-5158's response to armed aggression, Class-D personnel Robert ██████, age ██, is tasked with subduing SCP-5158 with an unloaded firearm under with strict observation. As the subject enters the containment, SCP-5158 immediately faces the subject. The subject is then instructed to draw the firearm and proceed. As the subject draws the firearm, SCP-5158-1 begins the glow bright red and the temperature of the containment is recorded at 90 degrees Celcius. The subject is observed to be reluctantly putting the firearm to the side of his head and pulling the trigger. SCP-5158-1 then brightens to white light; the walls of the containment begin to warp under the heat of 1000 degrees C. At this point, the subject has [REDACTED]. SCP-5158 can be seen falling to its knees and screaming. The containment is flooded with coolant. No remains of Class-D personnel or the firearm are recovered. All experimenting is halted until further security measures can be put in place.
