Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Keter

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a double-layered containment cell. The first layer, hereafter referred to as the inner cell, should be empty, and be lit from all directions at all times. The inner cell should have emergency pesticide dispensers placed under the floor, as well as windows that allow for the viewing of SCP-XXXX during the creation of SCP-XXXX-01. The second layer of the containment cell must be kept under -50 degrees Celsius, and should also have pesticide dispensers installed. Both containment cell layers should be checked for structural damage daily, and any carcasses of SCP-XXXX-01 should be incinerated, except for a small amount that are to be sent for analysis and necropsy. Should a living specimen of SCP-XXXX-01 be encountered, all subjects and personnel currently in the vicinity of the containment should be evacuated and checked for physical anomalies, especially bumps on the skin.

Description:

SCP-XXXX is an arachnid far larger than other creatures of the Arachnid family, having legs raising her body about 80cm above the ground. The total mass of SCP-XXXX varies depending on the current spawning stage, but her mass ranges from 350kg to 630kg, having lower mass after just having spawned a large amount of SCP-XXXX-01 entities, and having higher mass close to the end of a spawning cycle, ready to spawn more SCP-XXXX-01's. Standard arachnid body parts are all present; eight eyes, though green and luminescent, eight legs, with claw-shaped hairs on each leg, cephalothorax, and abdomen. However, no spinnerets (silk producing organs usually found on arachnids) are present.

Instead, SCP-XXXX has a relatively large abdomen, with tiny dimples covering it. On closer inspection (see also: Incident-SCP-XXXX-A), these dimples were observed to be pulsating, and after observing SCP-XXXX it was found the dimples are pockets for a large amount of egg sacs.

Spawning Process
SCP-XXXX is capable of ejecting a large amount (estimated between ten thousand and twelve thousand) of smaller arachnids. These arachnids seem to hunt humans relentlessly; several tests have however raised the question of what exactly these entities hunt; not all human subjects were attacked, and animal subjects were left completely alone. Experiments with a certain amount of D-Class Subjects has shown the SCP-XXXX-01 entities crawling into openings of a human body; these can be mouth, wound, nose, or even [REDACTED]. SCP-XXXX-01 injects a concoction of organic chemicals and hormones into it's "host" subject. How exactly the SCP-XXXX-01 survives, is unknown as of now. See Addendum 5 for more information on SCP-XXXX-01.

Incident SCP-XXXX-A

«Researcher assigned:» Doctor J.W; Female biologist witch arthropod specializations

Following tranquilization, initial observations of SCP-XXXX's body began on ██/██/████.
The researcher entered the inner containment cell with an armed guard. After careful analysis of the dimples on SCP-XXXX's abdomen, Doctor J.W established that the dimples were pores, intended for the storage and protection of egg sacs as they matured. While studying the front of SCP-XXXX, the creature suddenly awoke
from comatose, attacked and knocked Doctor J.W unconscious. SCP-XXXX immediately began covering Doctor J.W in a mucus-like substance, and [REDACTED]. The assigned armed guard was left untouched; SCP-XXXX did not seem to acknowledge the guard's presence.

«Aftermath:»
After this incident, pesticide dispensers were installed in the inner containment cell, aside from only the outer containment cell. Analysis of the mucus-like substance secreted by SCP-XXXX from the mouth has, as of ██/██/████ not concluded.
Hypothesized is that the substance contains pheromones as well as a numbing agent, intended for immediate threat disposal by SCP-XXXX and SCP-XXXX-01.

Doctor J.W's body was ███ █████████ from the containment cell after evacuation, because █████ ███ ██ ████ ██ ███████. This proves that, despite no earlier
reports, SCP-XXXX is capable and willing to defend itself from any creatures it sees as a threat to her own survival or that of her "underlings".
