Item#: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is stored at Site-23 in a standard Anomalous Object Containment Room that is 6m x 6m x 10m. The room is to be visually surveyed 24 hours a day. The Anomalous Object Containment Room is to be locked with a biometric lock that is coded to Level 3 and above. Any contact with SCP-XXXX is to be done with full body coverings. Gloves are 100% necessary if full body coverings are unavailable in an emergency.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a standard computer array that consists of one (1) unbranded monitor, one (1) unbranded mouse, one (1) unbranded keyboard, and one (1) unbranded computer tower. SCP-XXXX appears to be a completely normal computer set-up that runs at standard levels for such a device at initial observation. Personnel interacting with SCP-XXXX cannot derive any difference between SCP-XXXX and a non-anomalous computer array. SCP-XXXX anomalous property can be observed when opening the computer case. The inner workings of SCP-XXXX are completely biological. The exterior “shell” is made up of chitin and bone. SCP-XXXX's tower has a heart that pumps blood throughout the biological “circuitry” of SCP-XXXX. Inside of the case additionally contains portions of brain tissue. These sections of brain tissue seem to be the major component to SCP-XXXX's memory and processing. There are additionally some small, unidentified organs inside SCP-XXXX that require further study to ascertain their purpose, such as bladders of unknown fluid, and small portions that appear to be keratin without a clear function. SCP-XXXX does not require any external power. As to how SCP-XXXX is functional without a source of power is unknown. Anyone wearing gloves can open the case and handle SCP-XXXX without triggering SCP-XXXX's consumption state (See Below) SCP-XXXX has been known to bleed if some of the softer interior is lacerated or punctured. These lacerations or punctures will heal at a rate that is normal for biological entities. SCP-XXXX appears to be vulnerable to any and all circumstances that would harm any other biological entity unless damage caused is to the exterior. Any scratches and divots appearing in SCP-XXXX's “carapace” or case seem to be permanent with the only exception being a complete puncture. The interior will heal leaving a mark where it was punctured.

Dr. Tam’s research into SCP-XXXX’s consumption process and status:
D-Class personnel was told to sit in front of SCP-XXXX and research a topic of their choosing. After a defined amount of time, SCP-XXXX began consumption.

1.) SCP-XXXX's keyboard and mouse produce microscopic "hooks" that attach to the user. Freeing the subject requires the removal of skin of effected areas. No other known means is available at this time.

2.) SCP-XXXX's keyboard and mouse then produce a flesh-like covering that starts to envelope the user starting at point of contact. This new flesh also produces microscopic hooks that keep the user (here on referred to as victim) from escaping. The more SCP-XXXX envelopes a victim, the less likely retrieval becomes.

3.) SCP-XXXX will then produce a toxin that has an anesthetic effect. This toxin will also start to dissolve any biological material it comes into contact with.

4.) The additional components of SCP-XXXX begin consuming and joining together, SCP-XXXX has no semblance of its initial state and appears as a fleshy mass. At this point SCP-XXXX has enveloped approximately 50% of the victim and recovery is not possible.

5.) After the victim is completely enveloped, SCP-XXXX will dissolve the victim. The anesthetic toxin keeps the victim from feeling any pain. The victim is in high distress and movement can still be seen.

6.) All vital signs of the victim cease and SCP-XXXX will begin reverting to its initial state.

7.) After approximately 5 hours SCP-XXXX will then eject a disk from its previously empty disk drive. The contents of the disk are described below.

8.) SCP-XXXX seems to produce no solid waste after consumption but a heavy smell of "burnt hair" can be derived while SCP-XXXX is in the final stages of consumption. Since SCP-XXXX doesn't grow in size and only produces the aforementioned CD, it is unclear what happens to most of the mass consumed by SCP-XXXX's.

O5 command statement:
"We have learned all we need to learn about how SCP-XXXX eats living things. I see no reason to waste more D-Class persons to feed it. I think the next step should be to let it sit in its containment and see if the power begins to fail. If that's the case, we'll "feed" it and see if that's what gives it power. Being clear, I DO NOT want you to let it die. Have a D-Class ready in case of an emergency feeding."

Researcher Aaron ████████ appealed to change status of SCP-XXXX from Euclid to Safe. Reason stated - "It seems the only danger is when someone touches it". Appeal is; APPROVED
