SnowCrew27 (scrapped)

Item #: SCP-5927 (draft)

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5927 is to be contained in 15 acres of forest in the Northeast Appalachian Mountains near Site-██ surrounded by a fence at least 14 feet in height. Guards posing as National Park Service Rangers are stationed to patrol the perimeter in pairs continuously and instructed to direct any and all civilian hikers away from SCP-5927's containment area. Trail cams are to be placed throughout the area for complete remote security observation from Site-██. Under no circumstances may the guards look into the containment area or fall asleep at their patrol. Failure to comply will result in immediate reassignment.
One D-class personnel not convicted of crimes against children is to be chosen per week by the Site Containment Specialist or higher command and sent into the containment area. Research can only be conducted by personnel with Level 2 clearance or higher.

Description: SCP-5927 appears to be a large deer with a thin black fur over translucent skin. Silver-blue blood can sometimes be seen flowing under the skin. Its antlers are highly angular and sharp at the points. SCP-5927 does not have a mouth and seemingly has no digestive tract at all, as it has not been observed to leave droppings.
Anyone who looks at SCP-5927 will begin to feel drowsy, and approximately 20-30 minutes afterward, the subject will fall asleep. If a subject makes direct eye contact with SCP-5927, the subject will immediately collapse to the ground and enter a state of REM sleep. These effects do not transmit through photos or recordings. When SCP-5927 sees a sleeping subject, it will begin to guard them in a manner described as "like a predator defending its meal".
Once in possession of a victim, SCP-5927 will begin to manipulate the subject's dreams in an attempt to prevent the subject from waking up. The subject will begin to anomalously wither after 8 hours and will continue deteriorating for approximately 3 days, or until they are brain-dead. Should the subject become aware that they are dreaming, SCP-5927 will craft increasingly believable dreams to keep the subject asleep. This will usually continue for 4-7 dreams. If a person manages to be lucid in each dream, they will end up in a 'final' dream that is simply a large circular maze with various traps. If the center of the maze is reached, the subject will then see a child of indeterminate gender sitting on the floor. The child is wearing a veil over their head and ragged clothes. They will have muddy hands and feet and have sometimes been noted to hold a large toad. The child is presumed to be a dream projection of SCP-5927 and will be referred to as SCP-5927-P. It will beg the subject to stay and play with them and, if it has not had a victim in over a week, will also complain of being hungry. Some subjects have also reported seeing SCP-5927-P in other dreams as well while under 5927's influence, though only in the background.

Discovery: SCP-5927 was found after multiple reports of missing hikers found dead in the area SCP-5927 is now contained whose bodies were found with severely atrophied muscles. Victims were also found to have completely empty digestive tracts that had begun to go necrotic when autopsied, despite not showing any other outward signs of malnutrition. Field containment agents attempted to remove SCP-5927 from the forest and move it to Site-██, but the entity became hostile and began attacking with its horns. When moved back to the forest, it became docile.

Incident Report 6/██/20█3:
Note: The feeding habits of SCP-5927 were not yet known at the time of this incident.
SCP-5927 was observed pacing an area near the northwest corner of its containment area. One hour after this behavior was noted, a group of 6 hikers passed into visual range of the northwest corner of the containment area. Guards began to try and direct the hikers away, but SCP-5927 approached the fence and one hiker made eye contact with it, and the other hikers became panicked. Agent-███ called for backup while Agent-███ attempted to wake the victim. The attempt to awaken the hiker caused SCP-5927 to begin violently thrashing its antlers at the fence, causing significant damage and attempting to breach containment. MTF-Lambda-27 responded to the call for backup and subdued SCP-5927. Once SCP-5927 had been moved 100 yards away from the fence, the victim began to wake up. All hikers were administered a Class-C amnestic and sent to the nearest hiking shelter at ████████ 20 miles away. Following this incident, SCP-5927 is to be given one D-class weekly to keep its hunger sated and prevent it from breaching containment.

Interview Log 5927-P-1: 5/██/20█4

Interviewed: SCP-5927-P

Interviewer: Researcher ████ Smith
Foreword: Researcher Smith was accompanied by D-9841 and a member of MTF-Lambda-27. D-9841 was to placate SCP-5927, and the MTF was instructed to wake Researcher Smith after 7 hours if they did not wake up before then. The interview begins when Researcher Smith reaches the center of the maze. Interview is written down immediately after Researcher Smith wakes up. SCP-5927-P is holding the toad.

Smith: Hello there.

5927-P: Why don't you want to play with me?

Smith: Well, I only came all this way because I want to talk to you.

5927-P: You.. wanted to talk with me? Really?

Smith: Mhm. I want to ask you some questions.

5927-P: Why?

Smith: My associates and I are very curious about you, and we want to learn more.

5927-P: Oh, ok.

Smith: Can you tell me a bit about yourself?

5927-P: Like what?

Smith: Do you have a name?

5927-P: No.

Smith: Ok. Do you know how old you are?

5927-P: 3, I think.

Smith: Ok.

Smith: Why do you make people stay in your dreams?

5927-P: They're my friends, I want to play with them.

Smith: But if we don't ever leave the dreams, we die.

5927-P: That's not true! we get to stay here forever and play!

Smith: Really?

5927-P: Yeah! Me and Mr. Hops get lonely.

Smith: I see. How long do people usually stay with you?

5927-P: I dunno, but they always leave.

Smith: How do you mean?

5927-P: Some come here and get mad and scare me, so I kick them out. The rest just disappear after a bit.

Smith: That must be really hard.

5927-P: Mhm.

Smith: I could come visit every so often.

5927-P: You mean, you aren't staying?

Smith: I can't stay here forever because I still need to talk with my associates, but I could come for visits. We could play for a while, and then I can go to work, and while I'm gone some other people can stay and with you.

5927-P: Will you have to wake up?

Smith: Yes, I will, but I won't disappear, and you can look forward to seeing me when I'm gone.

5927-P thinks for a moment

5927-P: Ok.

Smith: I have to wake up now, but I'll see you again, ok?

5927-P: Ok. Bye-bye ████.

Smith: Goodbye.
