Item #: SCP-Unassigned

Object Class: Safe/Euclid

Special Containment Procedures:

SCP-Unassigned is voluntarily contained in containment cell number ██████ in the facility number ███. It is recommendable to constantly have at least 1 person at all times with SCP-Unassigned although in case that this is not possible or it would suppose a risk it will not be a priority. The cell consists of a medium sized school in a greek style architecture as requested by SCP-Unassigned. The cell measures 20m x 20m x 6m and has numerous stone benches spread around it. This suposed more than the common investment for such a passive entity but it was deemed necesary in order to obtain as much cooperation as possible from SCP-Unassigned.

Sometimes SCP-Unassigned will ask for food and water. If such request happens they will have to be fulfilled in a reasonable timeframe. If it requests to leave its containment. It will be allowed with researcher authorization It wont be allowed unless there is direct authorization of the Site director and no less than 2 security Personnel accompany SCP-Unassigned at all times.

Voluntary visits to SCP-Unassigned are allowed under any Senior Researcher authorization. Those visits with the intention of getting help in difficult topics or complex experiments should not only be allowed but recommended as SCP-Unassigned seems to like this interactions and the value of its assistance it's simply unmeasurable.

Although for the time being it is cooperative and docile. The motivation of SCP-Unassigned it's unknown and they might supose a danger for the foundation. As such the Safe/Euclid object clasiffication will remain until more research is done.

Description:

SCP-Unassigned resembles a common male human being, measuring 1.76m and weighting 80 kilograms. The only difference that can be at first distinguished is its pale statue-like skin tone. It wears a long greek dress made out of silk and has a long gray beard. Its vitals and organs seem to function as any other human being although it has been tested that it needs no water, food or air in order to sustain itself. Further research its not recommended at the moment in order to not cause any risk to alter its behavior.

SCP-Unassigned is charismatic and will hold any conversation for hours about any topic without any effort. In multiple instances he will start the conversation even though it does not possess any information about the topics of the incoming conversation.

If there is no one to speak with SCP-Unassigned will sit or lay down and look to the floor with one hand slowly stroking its beard. It seems that it has an extensive knowledge of ethics and defends them with great regards to all forms of life. That being clear, it treats such topics with a crude humour and shows no trauma when exposed to violent environments.

SCP-Unassigned is extremely cooperative even helping researchers of the facility in their tasks. Due to this cooperative nature, Senior Researcher █████████ decided to allow SCP-Unassigned to roam freely in the facility. Between 14 of March of ███ and 19 of March of ████ massive advancements were achieved by both researchers and field agents, but after the incident of ████████ which caused the unwanted release of ████ D-Class personnel and ended in ███████ casualties between both the D-class escapees and members of the foundation the free roam of SCP-Unassigned was deemed too dangerous and wouldn't be allowed to roam unless direct authorization of the site director. [For more information about this event check Addendum:1]

It appears as if the only thing SCP-Unassigned wants its to make sure any sapient being in its surrounding has good knowledge of what he thinks its right and wrong and will apply what is known as maieutics. A tactic or pattern originally created by the greek philosopher Socrates [hence its nickname] in order to find any failure in the reasoning of the person that he is talking with. He seems to have knowledge of any matters known to man and will correct any person that says a wrong or misleading fact. Attempts to use this condition in order to get new information by deliberately saying something wrong or unknown appears to be non practical. [Please read Addendum:2 for more information about this topic]

Short term exposure to SCP-Unassigned will result in subjects having their critical thinking capacities greatly increased and will overall improve their productivity significantly. Long term exposure seems to further increase this effects up to a limit. Those exposed to SCP-Unassigned for less than a week saw an increment in IQ of at least 10 points and a maximum increase of 21. Those that were exposed for more than a week saw an increment of a minimum of 16 and a maximum of 29. Exposure for more than two weeks seems to have little to no effect in any subject. There is a possibility that SCP-Unassigned might cause existential crisis to those exposed to it for large periods of times. But this seems to not be an effect of SCP-Unassigned but instead the effects to be presented with such philosophical knowledge. It's still unknown if SCP-Unassigned affected Dr.█████████ and was part of the events that pushed him to [DATA EXPUNGED]

Its origin is unknown although SCP-Unassigned has been heard several times speaking about a creator. Its unknown if this is meant to be something true or just a rhetorical way of speaking.

The first contact with SCP-Unassigned its topic of debate since It appeared voluntarily in the main door of Senior Researcher ███████ asking him directly about the foundation. He seems to know the foundation and all scps, this includes those that are still being catalogued and the location of all facilities and members. This might be a proof that information vital to the foundation might not as secure as we first thought and will be looked after. The other reason SCP-Unassigned might know this information is just its condition as an anomalous entity which wouldn't be surprising considering its apparent unlimited knowledge.

Addendum:1 Interview with SCP-Unassigned

Interviewed: [SCP-Unassigned]

Interviewer: [Dr. Diana]

Foreword: [Interview between SCP-Unassigned and D.Diana after the incident of ████████]

<Begin Log, [16:54]>

SCP-Unassigned: [It makes me glad that even though we had a disagreement a couple of hours ago we can still have a civil conversation]

Dr. Diana: [Well that is exactly what I wanted to talk about. Why did you coerce 12 members of the security personnel in order to release those D-class from their cells?]

SCP-Unassigned: [I wouldnt exactly say I coerced them. I just helped them to create a strong and correct opinion in their own believes. It was not my intention to release them, in fact I have no intention of doing anything that would require my active interaction. Im just a tool for the mind not the pilot.]
Dr. Diana: [You know the actions you committed caused the deaths of [DATA EXPUNGED]]

SCP-Unassigned: [Such actions were not of my doing. I was in my containment cell as so you refer it when that incident happened.]
Dr. Diana: [We are not accusing you of being an active part of it but it is thought that you were a main reason for which those members of the foundation decided to release ███ D-class from their cells]

SCP-Unassigned: [You and I have speaked a lot together Diana. And one topic that we usually talk about is the treatments you and your colleagues give to those captives you abuse as D-Class. These people were the same, we just spoke and I helped them correct their point of view.]
Dr. Diana: [Well. [Pause] I know what you think about that topic but still. You know that the foundation does this in order to save countless lives. Even you have understood this idea already]

SCP-Unassigned: [That is correct Diana, thats why I said points of view. There is no such thing as an absolute truth in ethics. You and me have talked about this many times too. The work this foundation does is beyond any other association in history. I just think that many of the work made in the foundation does not require the use of tortured human souls. I've seen your same people use drones and advanced machines for research. Im sure if the foundation wanted to it would create great ways of experimenting without the need of such horrible sacrifices.
Dr. Diana: [I'm sorry but you seem to forget that all D-Class personnel are those that were sentenced to death.]

SCP-Unassigned: [Oh no I did not forget it. I just have a suspicion that you really don't think about what those humans did to be sentenced to such a punishment. Those that you and your colleagues use as expendables machines were not born as killers or psychotic monsters. Most of them were shaped this way by a lack of basic education. Maybe a nonfunctional family or a bad environment. But only those uncultured are truly bad. It's not a condition they are born with]
Dr. Diana: [What are you trying to say with this?]

SCP-Unassigned: [I am just trying to show you that the humans you abuse and define as D-Class should not exist in the first place]
Dr. Diana: [What do you propose to avoid having any crime then?]

SCP-Unassigned: [I am so sorry Diana but I was created to generate questions not answers. My creator designed me with the intention of stimulating your minds not to guide you like the shepherd to its sheeps.]

Dr. Diana: [Well I think that's it then. Goodbye]

SCP-Unassigned: [Goodbye Diana, it's always a pleasure speaking with you. Oh and could you please tell someone to make me a Diplodocus Steak? I would enjoy some Sauropod meat.]
Dr. Diana: [I'm afraid such a thing might not been possible]

SCP-Unassigned: [I know Diana. [Laughs for about 5 seconds] You know? They say that humour is a sign of a good intellect. And well about the food, any steak will do]
<End Log, [17:12]>

End of the interview: [Dr.Diana leaves the containment cell and SCP-Unassigned waits patiently sitting in one of the stone benches. After he finishes his meal he leaves the plate at its side waiting for someone to collect it. When Cleaning Personnel arrives the containment cell him and the subject that entered go into a 3 hour long conversation about the ethics of consuming meat

Addendum 1 : SCP-Unassigned will be asked questions with no known answer in order to gain new information.

Test D - 05/10/██

Question: What is the origin of the universe?
Answer: That's a really interesting question you asked me, because you know well that the big bang was only the expansion not the creation. The concept of something that created itself is surely thrilling isnt it? Even more so the idea that a tiny living thing drifting through the massive universe will be able to know what his own origin was.

Question: We found that black holes lead to other dimensions with this information we could reach other universes.
Answer: The idea of other universes is certainly curious. I sometimes wonder if I will ever meet someone like me. Maybe then I might learn something I don't know.

Question: How can SCP-682 be terminated?
Answer: That's a really bold question. He appears to feel and suffer in its enclosure. Isn't the pursuit of freedom a common and understandable activity by any living creature? What is the true monster, the creature that merely wants to escape or the torturer that imprisons that creature

Question: The next scp will be found at minnesota in the United States
Answer: Impressive, not even I can predict the future. I hope the recovery is successful.

Question: Why did you decide to help the foundation?
Answer: I think Im really similar to you in this aspect. What was the reason you decided to help this foundation? Sometimes it seems as if we were born for something doesent it?.

Question: Is SCP-3199 a process of evolution or an intentional creation of someone ?
Answer: Such a curious creature. Featherless bipeds of wide toes. I know one student of mine who wouldn't be too happy to see them. Anyhow they truly are the biggest example of how powerful the instinct of survival is ingrained in all living matter.
