Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a standard 3m x 3m x 3m locked container within site 21. Three armed guards are to monitor access to SCP-XXXX at all times and be on high alert for possible intruders. Access to and contact with SCP-XXXX is strictly prohibited without prior testing approval by head researcher Dr. Brown and site overseers.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a semi-sapient wooden ████ brand chair with a crude engraving of the word "EZRA" on the back. Research into the chair's model indicates that it was manufactured in 1966, however the chair itself has stated it was created in the late 1980s. SCP-XXXX has not shown the ability to move on it's own, however while sapient it is able to communicate with SCP-XXXX-1 through cognitive means.
While no conscious organism is on the seat, SCP-XXXX acts and appears as a standard chair except for extreme regeneration capabilities1. Whenever one or more conscious objects come into contact with SCP-XXXX (hereafter SCP-XXXX-1), SCP-XXXX instantaneously becomes sapient and in 99.93% of cases attempts to get SCP-XXXX-1 off of the seat. These methods include pleading, bargaining, and in extreme cases visual and auditory hallucinations. SCP-XXXX begins pleading and bargaining with SCP-XXXX-1 to leave it alone. SCP-XXXX is able to communicate information and "speak" in a variety of voices. Test subjects describe SCP-XXXX's communication as an internal voice inside their brain2. This voice is able to speak in every language, but fluency in those languages greatly differ.
When bargaining, SCP-XXXX attempts to give information in exchange for SCP-XXXX-1's departure from the seat. If SCP-XXXX-1 does not leave within 8-11 minutes, SCP-XXXX will begin to cause visual and more dramatic auditory hallucinations that instill strong emotions of fear, regret, or sadness in SCP-XXXX-1. If SCP-XXXX-1 is able to remain in this state for between 6-18 minutes, SCP-XXXX will emit a loud cracking noise and rupture at the seams. This experience can cause various lasting effects in SCP-XXXX-1, including paranoia, schizophrenia, and amnesia.
Recovery Log: SCP-XXXX was recovered from a home in ████, Massachusetts, after the owner, Logan ████, was arrested for suspected insider trading. SCP-XXXX was found in the man's basement, surrounded by a shrine dedicated to it. An agent removing SCP-XXXX made contact with the seat, and voiced concerns over a possible psychotic episode. He described the experience as if SCP-XXXX was "inside" him and wanted him to leave. Foundation personnel were alerted shortly after this encounter and dispatched to bring SCP-XXXX into custody.
