Special Containment Procedures:SCP-XXXX is contained inside Provisional Research Site-XXXX, a lab constructed with the sole purpose of studying SCP-XXXX and it’s instances.
SCP-XXXX-A instances are to be kept inside small cells, with a continuous amount of CO2 being released inside the room.
In case of a containment breach or the identification of another danger zone MTF-Theta-4 is assigned with carrying on the containment or the neutralisation of the threats; all SCP-XXXX-A met on mission are to be considered expendable.

Description:SCP-XXXX is a parasite capable of infecting plants, dead or alive, turning them into semi-sentient humanoid shaped creatures; it is possible the parasite came in contact with humans in the past, which is why it mainly takes a human like form; When infected, the plant will go by the name of SCP-XXXX-A
The parasite requires CO2 to survive, otherwise it will melt from the inside.

Addendum XXXX.1:SCP-XXXX has shown an extremely rapid adaptation to all the various cures found to kill it once it infected a plant; SCP-XXXX-A instances have also shown a more aggressive behaviour and cohesion between each other: During a containment mission, Beta 1-Theta-4 has noticed the instances creating a “nest” underground, in which they lit a fire to spread CO2, set patrols and dug the dead bodies of animals underground to increase humus spread.

Sergeant Sandman:Am I in trouble sir?
Dr.Mitchell:No, absolutely not, on the contrary: you are here because I need an update on the behaviour of SCP-XXXX-1 instances: I heard you’ve seen some stuff, correct?
Sergeant Sandman:Well…it surely isn’t looking well for us: during our last mission we saw them hiding inside a hole underground…they even lit a fire to increase CO2 in the air.
Dr.Mitchell:Did you notice any behaviour that stands out?
Sergeant Sandman:Well…we did notice about three of them digging an hole, and bury the corpse of a goose…*Sergeant is silent for some seconds*…once we realised what they were doing we attacked and neutralised them. I think they were trying to increase…ehm…how do you call it? Hummus?
Dr.Mitchell:Anything else?
Sergeant Sandman:Thank God,no,nothing else.

Foreword:After investigation, Alpha 2 team of Theta-4 and Agent 17 are sent to contain the threat.

17:Ok gentlemen, we don’t know what we’re dealing with, so we’re full alert: keep your eyes open and your mouth shout unless necessary.
Nighthawk 6:Ok sir, we arrived to the red zone, I’ll go fuel back and return once you’re done.

A2-3:Sir, my heat detector’s going crazy…there’s a lot of stuff in here…including these really small heat stains.
17:Ok 3, keep looking.

17:Wait…I’ll check it out..
(Agent is attacked by three SCP-XXXX-A)

17:The anomaly is….a bunch of damn plants. A2-1, call in for QRF, Wait for them here. The rest of Alpha comes with me.
(the team explores the woods, meeting extreme resistance from SCP-XXXX-A instances. After 13 minutes, Reinforcements from MTF-Sigma-23 "Backup required" arrive and help in the termination of the various instances. Agent 17 takes a sample of SCP-XXXX to bring to Dr.Mitchell.)

Addendum XXXX.3:

+ Dr.Mitchell’s report

SCP-XXXX’s behaviour is truly intriguing: once infected, the plant shakes abruptly , and with time, it reshapes itself…the plant forms a somewhat humanoid figure, but sometimes we have seen them take the form of other creatures of the kingdom animalia;
the true danger comes when it’s around other SCP-XXXX-A instances: throughout time they showed to have an incredible cooperation between each other and an aggressive pack behaviour.
After mutation the plant seems to use wood as some kind of skeleton…reshaping it in a way that the instance can move in the form it has taken.
The parasite appears to have some kind of DNA memory: they know exactly how to do the things the previous instances did…might be really dangerous.
since they are plants, bullets do not do much on them, they can kill them, yes, but what keeps them going is the parasite and we never really know in which part of their body it could be hosting the instance; fire looks like a worthy and appropriate substitute, since it makes everything faster and kills the parasite…however, we noticed that it mostly resides in the “head”.

SCP-XXXX eggs, which will be spread through air

Addendum XXXX.4:Since 03/25/2017 all SCP-XXXX-A instances have shown a much less aggressive behaviour, and some have been seen entering a vegetative state; the amount of SCP-XXXX-A instances detected has also dropped of 24%. The following is the first documented appearance of this event:

Foreword:During testing on a SCP-XXXX-A instance, Head researcher Marcus Fletcher and Dr.Mitchell observe the appearance of a curious event.

Dr.Mitchell:Looks like the creatures you see in a fantasy movie.

17:Affermative, some completely rooted themselves like this, others were still hostiles.

After the event, levels of CO2 in Wyoming’s atmosphere decreased of 47%, labelling the state as one of the most CO2 free countries in the USA; the effect had repercussions on nearby states too.

Special Containment Procedures:SCP-XXXX does not need any type of containment. SCP-XXXX will still be studied in Provisional Research Site-XXXX.

Description:SCP-XXXX is a parasite capable of infecting plants, dead or alive.
After a plant has been infected, it will be labelled as SCP-XXXX-A; SCP-XXXX-A instances will grow larger roots, or be reanimated if dead.
If the instances is eradicated, it will still keep it’s roots on the ground and continue to be alive.
Such effects have decreased the amount of CO2 in Wyoming, and, after Archon classification, of the entire USA, of 87%, having repercussion all over the world.

It is clear that SCP-XXXX is saving us from auto-destruction: the amount of CO2 in the air has decreased so much that it almost looks like we live in a new world. Of course, climate change is still a thing, but now it easier to handle when companies can pollute as much as they want, because all SCP-XXXX-A instances are absorbing it. I remember when we let it free in 2018, after countless experiments on single areas, and since then everything has changed: all hope seemed lost, and yet, here we are…we have another chance now.

NOTICE FROM THE GLOBAL OCCULT COALITION HEADQUARTERS

Yes, indeed, I understand why you decided to let the anomaly free…but I would love to make you realise this: How do we know it won’t have negative repercussions? It happened before, why wouldn’t it happen again?
We are talking about an anomaly which now is around all the USA and maybe even moved to Europe somehow, and you’re just gonna let it be free because “it stops pollution”?
I greatly hope you are right, O5 Council, because if something happens, it will be too late already.
